Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition. The Juniper Titmouse (Baeolophus griseus) is a tiny bird which forages for insects among the branches of the Juniper and Oaks of the California foothills. Constantly on the move and secretive, he is very difficult to photograph. This photo was taken in Jawbone Canyon on November 17, 2009 in Kern County, California, US, using a Sony DSC-H5 digital Camera

Shelly gave me a single skein of yarn and this is what I came up with. A pair of quick and fun fingerless mitts, I've named Juniper because the spiraling rib reminds me of a Juniper topiary!

During droughts, and rought times, these juniper trees would 'amputate' their branches in order to survive. As a result, these trees are able to live for thoursands of years

The Juniper Springs Recreation Area is a wonderful place to spend a day. It's located in the Ocala National Forest and truly is a little known gem. Juniper Springs serves as a pool, but the best part of the park is to take a little hike from the main area and discover the Fern Hammock Springs area.
