These are the classic low cut Jumpman. Larger than I would have desired, but the fit is fine, and being Nikes, smaller sizes might have been too narrow. So I'm fine with the size.
These Nike Jumpman sneakers came to me pre broken in. No size label, but I think they are about a men's 6, although with Nike's you never know. My big toes do appreciate getting a good feel of the road. The previous occupant wore these hard, besides the toe holes, the heels are comfortably worn down. And when worn in the rain, my toes get a free bath! I like these.

Donkey Kong.
Donkey Kong was one of the first video games (if not THE first) I played, and I'm very thankful to be able to trace my gaming roots to this, and have Donkey Kong as introductions to gaming.
I believe my parents, or at least my mum had been lucky enough to have played the arcade version of Donkey Kong (before the NES was released), and thus they had a lot of hype for this game. When I eventually took over as the person who played the NES most in our house approximately around 89/90 the only game they'd really ever play was Donkey Kong, and thus the fact my parents liked it probably spurred me on to like it more too (age 3-4 is still a time where parents seem cool to there kids, before cool kick ass 80s and 90s cartoons came in that parents didn't get and thus kids are forced to declare them as "uncool", heh :P).
Back to DK though...
Donkey Kong may seem primitive and boring to people with newer roots in gaming, but I assure you Donkey Kong was awesome back in the day.
In fact, the prime of the game "Donkey Kong" 's life was some years before I was even born. Speaking of births, I may as well briefly share the tale of how Donkey Kong came to be, as most people may not of heard it.
In 1980 Nintendo had created an Arcade Game called "Radar Scope". It did ok in Japan, but in America it was bombing. Nintendo were really eager to make a success for themselves in America so they needed a new game that would be a hit.
An employee named "Shigeru Miyamoto" stepped up to the challenge, thinking he would have what it takes to design a game, and Nintendo gave him a shot.
Originally Nintendo was going to acquire the Popeye license and make a game around that, but that license acquisition wasn't going so well so Miyamoto was forced to come up with original characters for an original concept.
Long story short...the Mario and Donkey Kong characters were conceived, and in a challenging yet satisfying Arcade game that would propel not only those characters careers forward, but also the name "Nintendo".
Miyamoto was definitely in the right place at the right time to not only kick start what has so far been an amazing career, but he's also undoubtedly the core to Nintendo's success as well.
Anyway.
Donkey Kong is definitely a good testament to how gamer kids of older generations definitely had patience, and would adhere to a challenge. I say this because Donkey Kong wasn't exactly easy. I feel as though if I was to hand Donkey Kong over to my little bro's or any kids today and they'd just get frustrated and that'd be that.
Where as back in those days you didn't have that many games, so regardless of how hard things were. You'd keep trying and trying till you got it done.
Donkey Kong to the average person is an endless game, but that didn't stop me wanting to see how far I could possibly get before the game made me it's bitch. Thus Donkey Kong is another game on this list were high score's were king in those days :). You don't need achievements, You don't even need an end boss. You just continue to fight and fight, until you set a new personal best, for self pride! ...or bragging rights if you had friends who played the same game.
Growing up with the NES version I was unaware for a long time about how inferior the NES game is to the arcade, most notably the fact that a level is missing, and in a game with just a few levels that keep repeating (but harder), that's quite a big deal. Not to mention the challenge isn't quite as hard in the NES version either.
It's a shame that the only offering of the true arcade version on a home console to date has been as a secret easter egg within "Donkey Kong 64".
Still...I have much love for the NES version, even though it was an early release for the Nintendo and thus didn't have any capabilities to save your high scores (although the notes section of the instruction manual did ^_^).
Donkey Kong is definitely a game I'd love to have in it's true arcade cabinet form, although thanks to the great docu-film "King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters" the DK arcade machines have become a much sought after treasure.
So, in closing. Donkey Kong means a LOT to me in terms of personal nostalgia and what I played at an early age. I don't think anyone could imagine where we'd be today if Nintendo hadn't had success with Donkey Kong in the arcades...
Without that, it's unlikely there would have been an (Famicom) NES console, and if it wasn't for the NES then video games may have remained dead after the video game crash. However far you want to entertain that alternate timeline, it's without a doubt that without Donkey Kong, Miyamoto and Nintendo.... Video Games as we know them would certainly not be the same.

Nike Jordan "Jumpman" shoes, size 5
These are the only Jordan sneakers I own. I purchased them in the late 1990's when a chain of sneaker stores closed and sold off their very disorganized stock. This was the same time I purchased a bunch of other pairs of varying brands and sizes. The price was right, i think around 10 or 15 bucks!
This was the only pair of the Jordans I found there. I was afraid the small size would be too narrow as I have had that issue with Nike sneakers, not even short ones like these. However, they fit fine, obviously snug on my size 7 feet, but perfectly comfortable.
You;ll notice the uppers are so narrow that the tongue isn't wide enough to cover my socks.
Recently, the toe guard has started to come unglued from the upper. Otherwise, they are in good condition.
Hands down, this was one of THE BEST platform games for the Commodore 64 (or any 8-bit home computer system at the time)
Having come out just a couple years after Nintendo's Donkey Kong (Back when Mario was referred to as "Jumpman" on the instruction sheet on the game cabinet ^_^;), this colorful little descent into bullet, bomb, and killer robot insanity, consisting of 30 levels over 3 difficulty levels, was written by Randy Glover, and spawned a sequel (Jumpman Jr.) with 12 levels, as well as two unofficial follow-up games (Jumpman Lives! and Jumpman Zero)
There is a project out there to port the original Jumpman to the PC, and it is slated to be released for the Wii Virtual Console in the USA one of these days.
I did make it through the easy levels (1-8), didn't have the patience for the harder levels.
