There were 3 of these little shield bugs on the raspberry until I clicked the camera and the other 2 hid. The shield bugs always frequent the raspberries. I've put this shot on my desktop for a time.

t's some time since I've paid much attention to my galleries so I looked at a few this evening. An abstract one took my interest and I did a search to look at more abstract photos on flickr. As a result I seem to have got my eye in for seeing abstracts at the moment. I propped 2 pieces of A4 paper behind the pile to cover the distracting wallpaper.

Gatekeeper. It has the reputation for being the friendliest butterfly in the uk. That is my experience too. They come and greet me when I go outside and fly along in front of me whilst I chat away to them!. They're also happy to stay still whilst I photograph and sometimes stay there until they see me about to move away, then they go too.

Yesterday it was bitterly cold with high winds as the storn was on its way to us. That's why I was so surprised to see a red admiral butterfly in our garden when I opened the front door. It was away well before I could take a shot so I've posted one I took in July but didn't post on flickr then.
