Due to its nature which is volatile, transformative, luminous and warm, fire carries this symbolism which is linked to spiritual, alchemical and metaphysical meanings.
"The sails unfurl
the cries ring in the air,
the ship is on the waves of curls.
Ship rides o’er seas of pearl
while dragon rests in lair,
the sails unfurl.
Setting off to lands of kings and earls
the sailors eat some pears,
the ship is on the waves of curls.
One seaman’s known to love a girl
one boy climbs up a mount, on dare,
the sails unfurl.
Some on the ship have seen Arur,
a family has a small pet bear,
the sails unfurl
the ship is on the waves of curls."

solitary road along Snaefellsnes peninsula in wintery Iceland. This journey is unforgettable, especially in winter. We did it twice, once in summer and once in winter and I found the winter journey even more impressive along this mountain range that forms the backbone of the long-stretched Snaefellsnes peninsula culminating in Snaefellsjokull volcano at the tip of it.
Wishing all my wonderful friends here on Flickr who are spread out to the far corners of the World, a very happy and peaceful Christmas with every blessing.
You are truly amazing and im inspired by all of you every day!
Thanks to each and every one of you!

"The thoughts that I think
The roads that I travel
A mystery that
I cannot unravel
Forever trying
To forget what I knew
But I do it in vain
All roads lead to you"
- Martha Decker
Reserved a room for two at a B&B in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin. It ended up being a room for one, but I still cherish the journey and loved my stay in Bayfield.
This photo is a scenic vista that I took on my trip home on westbound Wisconsin Highway 13 between Bayfield and Cornucopia.
WI Highway 13 is a two lane road that roughly follows the South Shore of Lake Superior across Northern Wisconsin. People who are road trippers and have the time take the more scenic Highway 13. People who are in a hurry take U.S. Highway 2.

Seven, that's the time we leave, at seven ... series
__________
Gonna take a sentimental journey
Gonna set my heart at ease
Gonna make a sentimental journey
To renew old memories
Got my bag, got my reservation
Spent each dime I could afford
Like a child in wild anticipation
Long to hear that all aboard
Seven, that's the time we leave, at seven
I'll be waitin' up at heaven
Countin' every mile of railroad track
That takes me back
Never thought my heart could be so yearny
Why did I decide to roam
Gotta take this sentimental journey
Sentimental journey home

“In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself within a dark woods where the straight way was lost.”
Quote ― Dante Alighieri, Inferno
“Sometimes, reaching out and taking someone's hand is the beginning of a journey. At other times, it is allowing another to take yours.”
― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration
"Maybe right now your journey isn't about love. Maybe right now your journey is about you. Maybe this is the season you are being challenged to be your own savior, to be your own safe place. Maybe right now you are being reminded - that the people who walked away were only ever leading you back to yourself, were only ever leading you here. And here, you are okay on your own. Here, you are rebuilding. Here, you are adapting and mending, and reclaiming all of the pieces you let them walk away with. Here, you are being kinder to your soul, you are giving yourself the same kind of love you have always given to others. Here, you are not rushing your heart, you are not depending on another human being to fix it. Instead, here, you are doing that on your own. Here, you are healing."
-Bianca Sparacino
“Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere - on water and land.”

Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey:
Sometimes journeys are not planned. I have some changes coming up. Not sure how it will go. Just a few extra bumps in the already bumpy road. Nothing health wise.
Stay great my lovely Flickeroos.
Light rain, gray skies, and a babbling brook. Grab me a comfy chair and wake me up in a couple hours. The water was cold, clear and inviting. My journey upstream begins.

This massive rock sits proudly in the middle of Deadman's Beach. I've often wondered how it ended up there—what geological forces shaped its journey?
Today, as I looked at the photo, it struck me: the rock resembles a giant bao bun buried in the sand. Naturally, this led me down a rabbit hole exploring the history of bao buns. Originating in Northern China, bao dates back to the Three Kingdoms period in the 3rd century, with some evidence pointing as far back as 400 BC.
And then it all made sense: giant, rock-eating aliens with a penchant for Chinese cuisine must have dropped this here during one of their visits in ancient times. Mystery solved. You're welcome!
Thank you all for the kind likes and comments—they’re always deeply appreciated!
P.S. Speaking of buns, if you’ve got 3 minutes, I recommend this touching animation about motherhood and buns:

A trip to the Marche region is a journey through time; a hilly area where every hilltop is home to an ancient village rich in precious history.
Here stands the mighty Rocca Roveresca fortress in Mondavio, whose construction was completed in 1492.
