Blocks depict Seaman the Newfoundland dog and the journal pages written by Clark, Lewis, and others.. Made by Missourah gal.
An overview of a journal entry I wrote about two of the best people I've ever known, Melanie (aka rabble) and Jade (aka scherre), using stickers that they used to adorn a packet of gifts that they sent to me and my family. (The silver paper that I used to decoupage the journal was wrapping for that same packet of gifts.)
They're very special to me, and it took me a long time to be able to write something about them that really captured my love and affection for them.
I am procrastinating the day away because I need to mow the lawn, trim the arbovitae, water the potted plants out back, clean the pool, and drop some fertilizer on the lawn. I was going to get an early start this morning, but here it is half an hour past high noon and all I've done is post a few sketches here at flickr, go to Subway for lunch, sketch this guy and now post him. Busy day, huh?

"Obama won! Obama Won, Obama won, Obama won! This is treully epic..."
-First line of journal entry 11.5.08
I started my new journal tonight! Drawing inspiration from Angeline Melin, I faced the fact that my Moleskine from last semester was full of that part of my life and that I needed to move on.
So I did :) The "2" is indicative of this being the second journal I plan on starting and seeing all the way through.
Here’s to new beginnings, the next chapter of my life, and being able to write it all down for someone to, someday, finally read.
I dug up this old, handwritten journal entry from December 30, 1994 to post as a response to a comment from Brandi on the Shipwreck Cafe's Facebook post announcing Dad and Sherri's retirement, to illustrate that she was misremembering that they took it over when she was 7 years old. In fact, they took over the restaurant the month Brandi turned 10.
Thank you to Kathy McGraw for taking The Journal of the Traveling Squid to visit the So. Cal. Desert Communities -- what a nice treat. How hot was it?
Friday, May 26, 1995: written account of my very first time visiting the Shipwreck Cafe at its original location.
Today, taking photos with my new Nikon 80D [got 3-21 for my 17th bday]
and I stumbled upon the "collage lessons journal"
and this is the only word written entry, and it happens to be for the same day as today, one year before. Its interesting, so interesting, to go back and read the feelings and the people that surrounded my life then.
There's no secret hidden agenda to a peaceful soul. I can tell you the exact formula. Ready?
FORGIVE YOURSELF DAILY...wash yourself clean from any lies you carry...express your mind OFTEN. That's it. Pretty simple, yeah? Habits of any form, require consistency. Why not start a good habit today :)
I cannot upload pictures while I am traveling.

Ready to leave Indio. Had to wash a load of laundry that Evan got sick all over.
The truck's blinkers did not work when attached to the bus. Dad worked to fix it but no luck, so I drove the truck the two hours to Oceanside following the bus and with Evan as a passenger. Jacob rode in the bus with his grandparents. Not having the truck in tow allowed us to drive faster than 55 mph.
In Oceanside, had diner at the Elks Lodge (by the way, we are camping in Elks Lodge parking lot campgrounds (they even have hook-ups.)).
Jacob wanted to see the ocean so we went down to the pier and watched the sun set and watched the waves.

I'm starting this 365 project. A self portrait a day for a year.
A little creativity challenge for myself.
I'm listening to Mat Kearney, the song, "All I need".
I'm moved by it. Not necessarily by the lyrics, because I'm not in love or anything, but the music, and his voice, the piano, its incredibly lovely to me.
Passing the entries is called journal entries in accounting. Journal entries are passed according to rules of debit and credit of the double-entry system. This lecture is especially for accounting journal entry practice.
Despite asking for permission to take her picture, this subject carried on with her activity as if I wasn't there. This adds an intimate, candid quality as if subject is completely unaware of photographer. The sunshine was adding nice backlight to the subject and railing added an interesting horizontal line in the background.
