so i really wanted a way to combine my favorite photos from flickr with my journaling.

i am not the best at getting the daily things down so this is the best way to keep up.

found this little recipe card holder made by "real simple" at target for $4! it has 300 cards with lines so its perfect for journaling.

i just added my photos (another mosaic)

and wrote the story for each one...

I used LUXE papers and embellishments...love

and martha goodies...love

The photo above, probably taken by my father, showed the home where I spent my early days, enjoying swimming, fishing and water skiing on the waters of Greenwich Cove.

I no longer think of this as home, as I have wandered hither and yon with my three cats, and have come to understand how we might create home wherever we live.

And sometimes, when romance is especially warm, we might feel most at home in our lover's arms, as expressed in the poem below.

Lying next to you

I melt

Softened by your heat

I am butter soaking into toast

I am man loving woman

I am sun sinking into ocean

A sky ablaze with rose-tinted light

Waking next to you

I linger

Savoring your touch

Your scent

Your gentle breathing

In and out

At home in my arms

Sleeping the deep sleep

Living next to you

My palette is more vivid

My palate more complex

Life is shining and exuberant

Time slowed

Rhythm quickened

Pulse intense

Writing next to you

My words flow like a swollen river

Poem after poem after poem

As love and passion press me like a lemon

And juice pours out

I just LOVED the photo of this tree.......and I found a quote that I just loved to go with today's art journal page. Collage, paint, old music collaged on , and masking tape. There is some graphite on this too, although you can't see in the photo.

Journal Building, 1133 6th Street, Nevada, Iowa. The Nevada Journal Building was constructed by George and Oscar Benjamin, editors and publishers of the Nevada Journal, in 1905 to house the offices of their local newspaper. It is now the home of R.H. Investments.

i did this an hour before it reached my 18th birthday.

I've been painting a bunch of pages ahead of time with leftover paint...then I flip through and journal and/or collage on some. I love this moleskine,but I still don't think I can stay in one type of journal!
