Another picture from opening day at the Wicked Tulip Farm. They planted over 1 million bulbs this year, 3 thousand different varieties. This view is of several different types and colors as it looks like an endless field. Imagine if they grew as wild flowers it'd be a dream.

Patiently, i waited. Row after row exploring the Wicked Tulip Gardens in Johnston Rhode Island hoping this white butterfly (pieris rapae) would land l. Patience, as many of you know, is what pays off. Carefully, i balanced my basket and phone to capture this beauty on the white tulips. Mission accomplished.

Tulips at Wicked Tulips in Johnston, RI.
Taken with a Steinheil Cassarit 100mm f/3.5 (Cooke Triplet) using a 3-stop ND filter, which shot wide-open, for the amazing bokeh, still blows out highlights and requires some post to balance out the highs and lows.

βI'd like to go by climbing a birch tree~
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back.
One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.β

Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
~Robert Frost (1923)
