This water fall is easily reached with a short hike. Beautiful scenery. Area may be crowded, so go early.

We hiked Johnston canyon trail on our first day at Banff. It was relatively easy hike but carrying a three year old toddler on your shoulder can turn any easy hike into moderate and moderate into tough.

Not sure about this one. There isn't much room to shoot here unfortunately, there is a railing directly in front, making the shot kind of difficult.

While being for Work in Canada, Far away from The Netherlands. :) i had some spare time to discover a bit of Banff National Parc. :)

The Archibald Johnston Estate was built in 1923 a sits hidden off the main road in Bethlehem Township. I only recently found out about this place from a family member and decide to check it out. I am interested in architectural photography although this style of house isn't one a particularly fond off. I decide that it would be best to take a panoramic photograph to display the house. I knew when shooting it, it would look a straight and rigid as it appeared in real life. I quite like how the house sort of bubbles and bends in the photograph rather then staying uniform.

Close to Banff, Alberta, is a canyon called Johnston Canyon. There are two main watefalls there, both accessible by a well used path. This shot is of the Upper Falls, which is about 1.5 miles from the start. The Lower Falls is only about 1/2 mile hike and not quite as dramatic.

Thank you for your visits and comments, they are always most appreciated.

When his experimental steam tram went up in flames in 1894, locomotive engineer George Johnston turned to internal combustion, building a heavy Dogcart with an opposed twin engine with four pistons. A syndicate was formed to produce this Mo-Car was headed by Sir William Argyll engineer of The Forth (Rail) Bridge. The car was started by pulling a rope through the floorboards, and the Dogcart was built until 1906

This Arrol-Johnston Dogart was built in the Paisley works in 1902 and used by a Doctor in the North of Scotland until around 1908 when it was retired to his stables, remaining there until 1948, when it was acquired by The Sword Collection, and later by the Yorkshire Car Collection, its present owner being only the fourth in 115 years

Colourful Johnfton Gardens in Aberdeen, Scotland.

A truly spectacular sight in it's bright red livery is this 1914 Arrol Johnston boat-tailed pickup truck registered K-4651, seen here travelling down the town street at Beamish Museum. It carries the livery of CW Roberts of Ludlow.

Arrol Johnston Car Co. Ltd. (later known as Arrol-Aster) was a Scottish car producer that made cars between 1896 and 1931 and is credited with producing the first automobile manufactured in Britain.

The truck was at Beamish for the Steam Gala event on 9/10 April 2022.
