Johnson Lake is a beautiful and popular lake in Banff National Park. Just a short drive from the Town of Banff, a visit to Johnson Lake is an excellent thing to do in Banff, any time of year. Don’t rush your stop at this stunning Banff lake as there are so many things to do at Johnson Lake.
Looking down this glacial lake at some the Fairholme range peaks on a sunny day. One of the lovely lakes not far from the Banff township.
This pretty lake doesn't get near the attention of other lakes near Banff, like Two Jack, Minnewanka, Louise or Moraine. Many locals say it is one of their favorites destinations for that reason.
Have a wonderful week!

In Banff National Park. Had to get down really really low to capture the reflection and the stones :-) My feet were in the lake but the boots were waterproof.
The difference two weeks makes. I passed here about two weeks ago and took this other photo at the time: www.flickr.com/photos/195136680@N07/52380490736/in/datepo...

This barn sits in an unusual location. From where I was standing to take this photo, this was directly behind me and across a road: www.flickr.com/photos/195136680@N07/53666432382/in/datepo... and this was directly to my right and across a different road: www.flickr.com/photos/195136680@N07/53685834343/in/datepo... I was standing at a T. I believe this is the last of my stray photos from that one winter day in April.
Three years ago I published an image like this under the title Incubus. This was the text going with it:
"This is the tool, a pitchfork, that the man who wishes to be the British Prime Minister wants to use in order to drive out the "great incubus", namely the European Union. Words matter. "Incubus" is a term taken from religious language. It describes the Devil entering you sexually. When Mr Boris Johnson conjures up the scenario of the EU f...g the UK from behind and that he would "pitchfork" it off the back of the British people [BBC interview, 24/6/19] you know what you have to expect. You have been warned."
Today, Mr Johnson resigned from office. His incompetence and dishonesty caused great damage inside and outside of the UK. Those who supported him and swept him into power have to ask themselves how they are going to regain credibility.

One of my favourite lakes and you can see why! Such a beautiful place and so tranquil. I might upload a very similar one tomorrow or the next day so apologies in advance.

Perhaps the most famous event to have occurred in Uttoxeter is the penance of Samuel Johnson. Johnson's father ran a bookstall on Uttoxeter market, and young Samuel once refused to help out on the stall. When Johnson was older, he stood in the rain (without a hat) as a penance for his failure to assist his father. This event is commemorated with the Johnson Memorial, which stands in the Market Place, in the town centre and there is also an area of town called Johnson Road, which commemorates him.

Arkansas and Missouri train SFLO is doing a bit of switching at the siding known as Johnson Switch ad they work their way south from Springdale to Fayetteville. This job was on duty at 11 AM with a pair of classic Alco C420s, numbers 56 and 57 both built for the Lehigh and Hudson River Railroad in Dec. 1965 as their numbers 25 and 26 respectively. They are seen here working just north of the Main Street crossing near MP 347.7 (measured from the Frisco's historic corporate headquarters city of St. Louis) in this once small down that is now a suburb of booming Fayetteville.

Early morning at Johnson Lake in Banff National Park in Alberta. Started out fogged right in but soon the sun started breaking through the mist.
The Johnson family business began more than 80 years ago as a lunch counter and ice cream shop and evolved into a candy company at its current location on Hilltop in Tacoma, Washington.
