John is an old friend who was (and is) a banjo player and songwriter. Photo was taken in front of the main building at the University of Texas in the mid 1960s.

The Little Missouri Bank Building at Camp Crook was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in April 1987 as part of the Harding and Perkins Counties multiple-property cover. Photograph from nomination, 1985.
Built in 1918, the Little
Missouri Bank was the only bank that operated in Camp Crook. It first opened as a business in 1902 by John Clay and others. Their new building in 1918 was equipped "with an electric lighting plant, a water and steam heating system, and first-class plumbing facilities." On April 2, 1932 the bank transferred their business to the Butte County Bank in Belle Fourche, about sixty miles to the south. The building later served as a grocery/general store.
