Went out early today to beat the arrival of Tropical Storm Isaias - we had rain and it was very windy, I was happy to be inside when it started. I expect there are a lot of downed trees and power lines in some areas. Hope everyone in the storm's path stayed safe.

Malcolm X Park in Washington, DC. Joan's sword blade was broken off over a year ago, but it was recently repaired and whoever did it did a fine job.

Seen in Athens-Greece. More of this artist work can be seen here.

This Joan of Arc 3D model was created in Autodesk Maya and render with mental ray.

A principle pilgrimage site in the Lorraine region of northeastern France, in the Diocese of Strasbourg. It is dedicated to the 7th century Saint Deodatus of Nevers. The figure shown on the badge is St. Joan d’Arc who had close associations with the region.

Made from die-stamped brass with two enamels (blue & white). There is a pin clasp on the reverse and the maker’s name – Chobillon, Paris. It measures 40mm high x 25mm across (about 1 9/16” x 1”).

I kind of guessing this was Joan 'Arc before I read the plaque, the battle armour by her side was a bit of a give away

Proof. Oh, and you can check out the performance on www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/indeks/152438

She has the most beautifull painted face I've seen!! It might not be that obvious on the photo, one has to see it in real live. I had to take it on the side because of the reflection of the window in front of the painting.

Is it just me, or does this angle give the statue a feeling of life?

which top, jeans, shoes, socks, underwear???

I don't think I've ever seen a Joan of Arc Etsy treasury, but the Maid of Orleans certainly deserves one, and this one is so pretty! Thanks so much to Lonnie of PickleBerries (love that name!) for including my gold dragon bead.

Joan D'Arc

1412-1431

“My God, My Country, My Life”

A national heroine of France and a Catholic saint. A peasant girl born in eastern France, she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years' War, claiming divine guidance, and was indirectly responsible for the coronation of Charles VII. She was captured by the Burgundians, sold to the English, tried by an ecclesiastical court, and burned at the stake when she was nineteen years old. Twenty-four years later, on the initiative of Charles VII, Pope Callixtus III reviewed the decision of the ecclesiastical court, found her innocent, and declared her a martyr.
