ON THE NOSE.

Today's assignment, submit pictures of noses. Big noses. Baby noses. Pig noses. Any noses. ;-).

Today's tag is #jj_forum_0875. Big thanks to @lolrayy for the inspiration with this submission a few days ago.

Here's a little tip for today's theme. Want to make a nose look big? Follow Ray's lead and get in real close.

.

But the real gold nugget today might be in understanding that the opposite holds just as true. The cure for the unflatteringly prominent proboscis common in wide angle close ups? Step back a few feet.

.

When it comes to portraiture, smaller noses are almost always better looking noses. Your more vain friends will certainly thank you for learning this trick. :-). Crop in on your image after the fact if you need a tighter framing.

WHAT THE HECK IS #JJ?.

Are you new to the community? It's not as confusing as it seems at first. :-). Here's the deal.

.

Sometimes it can be hard to get your pictures seen and find inspiring photographers to follow. That's why I created the forum 3 years ago. It's a place to come together for inspiration and encouragement.

.

Every morning, NYC time, we make a post announcing our new theme and tag. Your job is to tag images that fit the theme. You can use shots you have already posted but we really love to see the theme inspire you to find new shots. The @jj_editors, @kevinkuster and I scour the tag and repost our favorite submissions through out the day. Over half a million people might see your pic! Pretty cool stuff.

We are ALL about keeping things simple, but in the spirit of our motto, "Create to connect", we ask that you follow our only "rule". We call it the 1-2-3 rule. For every 1 image you tag, comment on 2 in the tag and like 3 others.

.
