I feel privileged to live very near to this beautiful lake, and be lucky enough to capture the last rays of the sun as it sank below the horizon. It looks like the sky and the lake are on fire, and reminds me of the fierce beauty that we are able to witness on this awesome planet. It makes me feel alive, vibrant and steeped in the passion that animates the world, like I too am a tiny spark of animated cosmos.

At least three people have recently called me “an adventurer”. It may look that way from a distance but nothing is further from the truth. I spent 38 years in air traffic control; in which it is very unwise to be adventurous. Therefore, I am good at avoiding adventure; when possible.
After retirement, I bought the sailing vessel we call “Shibumi”. Jill and I take an annual sailing voyage; normally to the tropics. Even in doing so, my sail plan is to avoid adventure.
I live in Florida when not living aboard Shibumi. Most of my days include Tai Chi, meditation, writing, music, and the capture of at least one photograph.

mysticmermaid: When I think of an adventurer, I think of someone who has the attitude to enjoy life to the fullest and accepts whatever it hands them. Not so much risk taking but experiencing everyday life as an exploration and being able to find the wisdom in it.
royalld: @mysticmermaid ... Ah yes ... Who you describe is more of an explorer. I love to explore. However, I have gotten too old for too much adventure, which by definition is an enterprise of hazardous/questionable nature.
