Jiminy cricket ? Un peu timide ce matin...

Jiminy cricket? A little shy this morning...

Sorry Disney, looks like it is the end of the road for your spokes-cricket.

Grasshopper on my window. Looks like I just missed with the dof, now that I can see it close up. So close.

« Arcyptera fusca » alias le « criquet bariolé »

Taken from my window: - my son is one of the crew on the lead boat - "Jiminy". Not a bad view!

Whilst having a leisurely walk through the woodland the other day, I heard a whistle:

“Pffffsssiiiiiiiiiiiiii”

“Eh where did that come from” I looked around

“Over here”, said a strange voice

“Where, I cant see you?” I looked around but I couldn’t see the wood for the trees.

“Psssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!”

Ohhhh, there you are!” There was a little face in the side of the tree trunk.

““Yes, here I am, what are you doing here, you look lost?” It asked.

“Oh just rambling around, having a look here and there”

“You don’t know where you are going do you?”

I thought about this for a moment, slightly hesitant with my reply. “Errrrrrrrrrrr, no!”

“Now listen carefully….When you get in trouble and you don't know right from wrong,

give a little whistle!, pfffff pffferrrr, Give a little whistle!”

“What do you mean?” I asked

“Take the straight and narrow path, and if you start to slide, give a little whistle!, pfffff pffferrrr

Give a little whistle!”

“Right, okay, I think I’ve got that” I replied”

“Just one more thing..and always let your conscience be your guide”

“Have you got a thing about Pinocchio, or something?” I asked, looking at him rather strange.

“Yeah, love Jiminy, love the film, sing that song all the time!”

“Right okay, I’m off” and I walked off down the nearest path “Strange trees in these parts.......”

Guess Who? - Meet Jiminy Cricket! Well, that's what I thought when my lens revealed this little guy clinging to a flower in the Butterfly House at the For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum in Burton, MI.

Cricket on a screen

It's shot straight up ... the cricket is upside-down. :)

I'm not a big fan if insect shots but these guys always remind me of Jiminy Cricket--so friendly!

From the garden down the road. Well, they are not really dancing dahlias, I just wanted something to go with the D & dangerous, daggy & daring didn't work so dancing was it. Jiminy agreed & started dancing to give the image authenticity. HSS

I recently acquired a multifunctional halo light, this is my first session with it

Thank you for viewing, faving or commenting on my images, have a great day!
