Do you know you can find jewels in the grass? Be careful, because their guard is always around!! You can see him too on this image. Just a straight out of the camera shot. I was surprised that he showed himself. Probably he was afraid I would take more than a photo ;-))

These shiny beetles live on rotting wood which is a rather unglamorous living for such a good looking creature. This one caught my eye as I was using the swimming pool at our villa outside Chiang Mai

The Elbphilharmonie is located in the historic Sandtorhafen, which was Hamburg’s old working harbour for centuries. The Kaiserspeicher, Hamburg’s biggest warehouse on the water, was built in 1875. Cocoa, tobacco and tea was stored here until the 1990s.
Glass Facade
The building’s characteristic feature: 1,000 curved window panels that are tailor-made to reflect back the sun’s rays. The glass facades in the loggias of the apartments and concert foyers are especially striking: their large convexity almost look like enormous tuning forks.
This aptly named Jewel belongs to the syrphid (hoverfly) family. Here it is sipping nectar from Cabbage Palm flowers, but they are also found on carcasses. These flies are nearly the size of a bumlebee or a scarab beetle.
Common Pauraques can be seen at Estero Llano Grande State Park as long as you know exactly where to look. Even then, they are so well camouflaged you might step on one before your eye can pick it out from the background leaf litter.
This was my first port of call on "torrential tuesday" as I made my way around the Yorkshire Dales. It was actually dry on the walk in with icy ground conditions, but the rain started on my way back down The Valley of Desolation.
Again, I had never seen Posforth Ghyll Falls before until two of my Flickr pals, Terry Roberts and John Bleakley visited and posted some awesome winter shots from here before Christmas. It looked such a wonderful spot, I had to try it, so thanks guys for the information.
The weather went full monsoonal after this for most of the day as I made my way North to try a few more waterfalls I hadn't been too before. I had a new Mountain Equipment rain jacket which kept me dry and toastie above the waist, but my lower half ended up wetter than an Otters pocket!
This caught my eye while exploring a local woodland at dawn this week.
