A Star Wars day special,

From yours truly, Jan, the Creator.

This build is both an extension of my long-planned project (an Imperial base) and an online collab with my friend Noah (H2Brick).

Who motivated me to do this? Well, Noah did whose part of the collab comes very soon. It's much more vertical than mine, I'm gonna spoil you just this. :D It was so nice to do multiple whatsapp/discord building calls with Noah and give feedback to each other.

Hope you like this updated version of the base. I personally see some oversimplified areas that I can improve in the future.

Don't worry, I'll work on them. I'm having an exam session now and I was grinding for the past 5 days to get this done. I guess it was worth it! :D

BTW. The size of the moc is 2x3 gray 48x48 baseplates now, will be expanded again this year!

Slightly modified Jerac's X-Wing

Since many years i was planing a Star Wars Apoca MOC. But never had a good idea what to build.

After i saw the pics from Brickvault Vavin4 tempel i know what to do :-).

Around one year i need to finish this MOC.

Its so sad that i cannot show it in live, because in real it look gigantic.

Many thanks to Boga, Noppi with helping me with some parts.

Thanks for the great inspiration from Brickvault and also to Jerac for his great X/Y Wing MOCs.

The A-Wing as seen during the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. Full credits go to Krispy and Jerac for designing this model, with the exception of an engine mod. I also don't have a green leader figure, so the cockpit is empty. Enjoy!

Suprise!!! :D

Here's my biggest build I've ever done. May the 4th special. 128x48 studs, estimated amount of parts: 3.5k.

I've built this for a contest hosted by LEGO Ideas battle contest, called "The Greatest Battle built by YOU!".

TIE Fighter is inspired by Jerac's in some parts.

74-Z speeder is genuinely my design.

MORE SHOTS TOMORROW.

And now...

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS.

~Jan

Get this on Creations for Charity! (It should be in the store soon).

Pauldron design goes to Jerac.

I have been wanting to build another Yavin 4 MOC for awhile, especially one with a Y-wing (which is my favorite Star Wars vehicle). I decided to use Jerac's design for a Y-Wing because none of mine were turning nearly as nice as his design. If you haven't go check out Jerac his instructions are on Brickvault's website. I used his initial design then modified it to my liking. I wanted to make the base bigger but I ran out of tan pieces. I had so much fun doing this build and I hope you enjoy!

“All strive for victory. But not all understand what it truly is. To a soldier or pilot on the line, victory is surviving the current battle. To a politician, victory is an advantage one can bring to a bargaining table. To a warrior, victory is driving an enemy from the field of battle, or bringing him to surrender.

Sometimes victory is greater than the warrior could ever hope for. Sometimes it is more than he is able to hear.”

- Thrawn

It all started almost two months ago with an idea. Make something for May 4th (I’m late, I know, but cut me some slack). Me and Jan, the Creator are both big fans of the Imperial architecture seen in the Star Wars universe and wanted to do something large in size. After some hours of researching, looking through many concept arts and designs, the plans were put together and we set out to build our creations.

~ Platform ~

The starting point for me here was the platform on which the custom Tie Fighter (designed by Jerac) and many minifigs are standing on. One piece of concept art / Imperial structure we found was a large landing platform on Kashyyyk. To get the shaping right, a combination of corner slopes, hinges and many larger tiles were used to get the look. Since the surrounding area was to be terrain, I went with Dark Orange as the color for the ground. I purposefully left this area more flat and basic to leave attention towards the base. I also wanted a small area below the platform to store speeders which also helps break up the bottom area, giving it some action.

~ Base ~

The base itself was built in two main sections and some medium sized segments at the top. Walls here uses various tiles in LBG and DBG to form this Imperial architecture design. Was quite a challenge later on with the lack of tiles in certain areas so I had to get creative in how I would spread them. Instead of just using regular tile, I also made use of sandwhich tiles, corner faucet cut tiles and some snot to built up this area. Lots of other elements were used for detail including some DBG frames that I attached to tiles to create this column in the middle wall. The key thing while working on this was to keep a balance of simplicity and detail, something that can get lost while working on a larger creation. As we get to the top, you can see more detail and extras, like crates and dishes that populate this area.

~ Minifigs ~

The last thing I want to discuss is the minifigs used throughout the build. The Imperial selection of officers, troopers and crew is very extensive so once again, keeping a balance was important. Me and Jan wanted to include characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn and Moff Tarkin to give these creations a bit more purpose. Perhaps they’re here to inspect something new, here for a strategy session, the point is these two give a presence, even with being two small minifigs. The Death Troopers additionally work well to complement those, giving you once again the feeling that there are things at work here.

Thank you to CTR Bricks for helping edit the picture.

If you like this build, consider tapping the fave button ever so slightly and if you’re feeling like doing a bit extra, follow me here. Thanks!

We can't go far in Rome without seeing ancient ruins or old churches, monuments and sculptures. Here, from the front of the great white monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, we can see the domes of the 16th-century church of Saint Mary of Loreto and of the 18th-century church of the Most Holy Name of Mary at the Forum of Trajan, with Trajan's Column on the right.

The two sculptures at the entrance to the Vittoriano are called The Thought (Giulio Monteverde) and The Action (Francesco Jerace), left, both fundamental in the Italian unification process, as they are necessary to change the course of history and to transform a society.

My skills are back?! Lol! XP Hope you like the MOC and the pic itself. Looks (finally) good imo. :D

Btw, i'm on the way to Prague, so i won't be very active. Have a nice day, everyone!

Before I upload the Viking Village... Here's just a tiny start of my future big project! I always wanted a huge SW base to display. I decided to go in the way of SW Commander mobile

game, so I mean (mostly) flat terrain with plenty of Imperial structrues scattered across the layout. My primary goal was to make the armoury on the right, then I thought about a little landing pad to display my TIE fighter from the instructions by Jerac. The little stairs were a cool addition too! Tell me what do you think. :)

Huge thanks to CTR Bricks for providing me additional baseplate of the terrain with the spiky plants and crates. Without it, my build would've been much smaller! ;)

Please excuse the convention background. I will definitely take cleaner pics once I unpack this whole thing from cardboard boxes. :)

For MOCathalon 2011.

I'm psyched by how well this came out! Definitely my best microspace yet, I think. This is the first microscale MOC that feels sort of "real". It looks like a functional, complicated spaceship, which was what I was going for.

I was channeling some Jerac (upside down container idea) and Soren while making this, having spent hours looking through their respective photostreams and drooling :)

Enjoy!

EDIT: Also, Team Jigsaw FTW!!! ;)

The Imperial Pod Racer

I recently saw a concept for a Tie Racer on instagram. It was cool but essentially it was just 2 massive cylindrical engines stuck to the side of a Tie Fighter. So I decided to take this to it’s natural conclusion. What would an Imperial Pod Racer look like?

The idea was to take the aesthetics of a Tie Fighter, split it up and re-design it for the racing circuit. I figured that with all the resources the empire has they would make something a lot more polished and refined than the junkyard efforts we see in the movie. They’d also use one of their signature designs for it. The centre part of the ‘pod’ is a heavily modified mid-section from a Tie Fighter by Jerac.

Huge thanks to Jerac for his help and advice whilst building this.

A couple of my own take on the A-wing. The blue/white combo really works with me.

Of course it is heavilly inspired by Jerac's old version. I know his recent ones are incredibly detailed and very close to the real thing but this is the old one that really stuck with me. And while I did not attempt to reverse engineer it, I re-used the obvious seed parts.

I hope you guys like it, it feels good to be building again. There's a lot more where it comes from : I'll be participating in a small con in the South West of france on the 13-14th of april. If you're around then come by, it could awesome to meet some of you guys.

The next addition to the collection, the X-51 Mustang! This was a collaboration with @brick_squadron (instagram) who did the excellent fuselage. I also have to thank Inthert for allowing me to use the mechanism, exhausts, and cannons from his fantastic midi-scale X-wing. From there I used photos to reverse engineer the engines and wings from Jerac's version before modifying them. I will certainly be building this physically with my other planes. Next one to tackle is the Zero!

This (digital) MOC, as a counterpart of my Yavin IV Rebel Base, is a modular, imperial Tie Fighter Hangar.

The rendered images are composed of 3 modules of the hanger, the left one (the Entry) and right one (small Elevator) slightly changed. Each module has a base of 48 x 64 Studs (3 x 4 16x16 Plates) and are interconnected the classic way with pins. The pillars and walls themselves are also modular, connected by pins and can easily be replaced or exchanged with each other. A technique I used for my Republic Hangar and proven for the transport to many events.

My daughter June's cat Jacqui and the Ice Cream Maker are of course also present. ;-)

As usual I've been inspired by many great MOCers around the world. Credits go to swebricks (Star Wars Community Build 2013), Spacepilot3000 (Escape from Docking Bay 327, THE starting point when you build imperial walls), TheCreatorr (Death Star Hangar Bay MOC and of course to the epic MOCer Jerac (Middle section of his awesome Tie Fighter). And finally to myself (Republic Hangar).

I hope you like the moc and find and recognize some well known characters.

Cdr. Bannon’s Log: Scarif has been a somewhat heated conversation topic among high command as of late. Even though not unanimous, Scarif has been decided as a strategic priority for the Triumvirate expansion. I’ve taken it upon myself to inspect Cdr. Voluth’s mining operation in the former Aurek-14 excavation site.

Most of Aurek-14 was buried in a mining accident around 0 BBY. If my theory is correct, Aurek-14 should still hold some of the best kept secrets of the Tarkin Initiative. Personally I’d like to have a look myself. An inspection is the perfect cover, and the perfect opportunity to test my new Eta-2 TIE Interceptor.

Cdr. Voluth: Commander Bannon, we are honored by your presence.

Cdr. Bannon: You may dispense with the pleasantries Commander. I’m here to inspect the mining operation!

Cdr. Voluth: I assure you Cdr. Bannon, my men are working as hard as they can.

Cdr. Bannon: Good... And the salvage operation?

Cdr. Voluth: We have managed to salvage roughly 200 containers of kyber.

Cdr. Bannon: Excellent! Shuttle the containers to my ship immediately. I will inspect a few other sites before I return to my ship. Commander, I want daily reports on the operation.

Cdr. Voluth: Of course sir!

I know I have a lot going on in this build, but I didn’t feel like removing anything. The moc is supposed to be a cut-section of the mining canals seen in Scarif concept art from Rogue One. Spend a lot of time on the rock work and the orange tram that slides on the rail. Credit to Jerac for the TIE cockpit.

Also, the MOC is a part of the Factions RPG over at Eurobricks. Check it out here: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/175956-s...

Macy’s Razorback

Warhammer and Nexo Knights seem like a perfect match to me. I don’t play the table top games but I really like the vehicle designs and imagery.

Pointers from Jerac (www.flickr.com/photos/jerac/5164163208) and Slnine (flic.kr/p/q6dhmy) are clearly evident in this one, specifically the scale and design of the tracks.

I tried to come up with my own solutions to achieving the angles and offsets, and I hope it compliments their incredible creations.

I built something! Actually I built a few things, but they are all more or less in their finalizing state soooo a moment till theyre released.

So I was wondering for a while if you can make a siege engine the old fashioned way: no springs or bows - but with twisted ropes providing all the force. The answer is yes - and it works! I will show it on camera in soon.

I tried an Onager first, which is your archetypical catapult, but eh, it was boring. Maybe will get back to it. What I ended up with is a ballista, a Roman one to be more specified. Once it started working I gave it a nice wooden trim, borrowed few Roman soldiers from my friends and voilà - there you have it: a Roman Ballista. Enjoy!

Not sure how this one is gonna be received. It was inspired by/based off of Jerac's Predator Destructor, and there's several areas that are nearly identical. I think there's enough difference between the two for this to stand on its own, but I can understand how you might not.

It's meant to be the Vindicator siege tank from the Warhammer 40K universe. There's some stuff that isn't as accurate as I'd like, but hopefully it isn't too noticeable.

You can download the LDD file here.

Finally, here is my X-wing. This has been a work in progress since probably November of 2017. I can’t say I was working on it the whole time, there were a few times that is was “done”, but I was never really satisfied with it until now. I know a lot of people have said it but I’ll say it anyways, X-wings are not easy to replicate in Lego! All the angles are difficult enough, not to mention Lego’s horrible windscreen design. This made the angling around the cockpit probably the hardest part of the build. Of course a huge thanks has to go to Inthert, who inspired me to build an X-wing in the first place. Both his and Jerac’s designs influenced this build quite a bit. While I’m mostly happy with the way this turned out, I’ll probably make a recolored more accurate design sometime in the future. Next up: Y-wing!

The ugly fighter with its landing gear out...

The TIE Interrogator is a custom (not in universe) TIE Fighter design I developed. This starfighter is used for high-altitude flights as a form of transmission interceptor, equipped with a sensor array system on the bottom of the craft that picks up signals transmitted by rebel bases far below.

There has been lots of great work on custom TIE cockpits lately by

Jerac and Inthert, which I believe was inspired by Bricksfeeder. I'm honestly not sure how they created their designs, but I took some of the methods I could recognize and then finished things off with my own designs. Turned out really well!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.

I've found today beautiful MOD made by user Gav*. I couldn't resist to ask for permission to use this stunning Tie Fighter - well known from Rebels series - in one of my space shots.

Hope you like the result guys, give cheers to Gav* because it's his work which is most appealing here.

The Lamborghini Countach

Marcelo Gandini's masterpiece!

The best automotive design ever!

It is a special one for me because it was always on top of my wanted MOCs list!

I had random ideas about many sections of this car in my head for many years but it was always seemed like too much of a riddle to combine all of them.

After the smart solution for the headlights, the great amount of new Lego parts and the realization that the front angular wheel arches are unachievable in this scale (see @jerac.lego 's jaw dropping Countach), I realized I could build the rest of it one way or another.

It features passive steering, full interior, engine details, opening doors, hood and engine cover!

Slightly modified version of Fuku Saku's X-Wing design.

I've been looking for a Lego X-Wing for quite a while now, and neither the official sets, nor the MOC's by other builders made me want to own one. Jerac's came very close, but only when I saw the one by Fuku Saku was I sold. So I went ahead and bought the instructions and initially built it to specs. Later I decided I wanted a more pristine one. And here she is.

I did some minor modifications (Fuku Saku's one is more accurate to the motion pictures in terms of markings), but other than that I'm very pleased with this model and impressed with the clever techniques used.

A closer look at the ugly fighter. Somehow I imagine this ship being a little nimbler than an ordinary TIE... What do you think? Also see more over on Eurobricks: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/175956-s...

Out of all the Aces, this was the easiest to design and build since it’s so small. I designed the front using elements of Jerac's beautiful A-wings and designed some custom stickers to convey the racing stripes.

Despite being small and compact, I did challenge myself to pack complex building techniques to give the starfighter an overall smooth and slick look.

Getting excited about the new Cyberpunk 2077 - used to play the 2020 rpg when I was a young geek. Always loved the flying cars.

Lotsa credit owed to Jerac (www.flickr.com/people/jerac/) for this one. I've tried to keep this design as compact as possible - fitting two figs under a 6x wide canopy without increasing the width or height too much was an enjoyable challenge.

Moldy Crow, a modified HWK-290 courier ship flown by Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn in "Star Wars: Dark Forces" game series. One of my favourite SW ships (though I haven't really played Dark Forces. But I've used to fly it a lot in X-wing tabletop game).

I've tried to make it as accurate as possible, but had to make some compromises, the most visible one being colour. Even though light bluish gray isn't closest to the source material, it has so many more pieces available then Dark Tan, which would be my preferred choice.

A few random facts:

- The model is in more or less minifig scale (I've scaled assuming height of minifig to be ~1,8m).

- There's only space for one crew member inside the cockpit.

- Landing struts fit inside ship's body when in flight.

- I've used X-wing tabletop game model as a reference. As far as I know, it's the only official physical model of the ship.

- Stand I've used is based on Jerac's, who was kind enough to let me use it. Thanks!

T-65 X-Wing designed by Jerac.

I had a lot of fun building this model and learned a lot of techniques.

Thank you Jerac for this wonderful design!

here's my updated version of the rz-1 . The main change is the colour swaps to reflect the decoration of the studio model from the film and other changes in the build to better represent the shapes and profiles of the a-wing. I also used some paint.

Of course this is originally based on jerac's superb moc which you can see here (from 2009!):

Although Jerac's A-wing is probably the definitive LEGO representation, I thought I'd take a shot at the A-wing.

My goals were to make a more compact version (thus the technic/round bricks running the sides of the fighter) and incorporate those big wing panels included in the official LEGO A-wing sets (although, when compared to the actual ILM models, they are woefully inaccurate).

I added the atrt to the same shot that I posted recently. Credit to Jerac for his awesome tie fighters that mine is based on.

We have a contest at zbudujmy.to - "Złote Study", Golden Studs in english). There is one category whose winner is determined by voters and well, I got a tie with Jerac.

To resolve the tie, us both have to build something in two weeks, to the theme picked by our community.

The theme was... 80ties!

So here's my 80's Arcade.

A different take on the character, mainly with the color scheme. Went with brown because of the head.
