This street has been called "Jellybean Row" because of its brightly-coloured homes. These are common in St. John's Newfoundland Labrador.

#DoodlewashApril2023 prompt: Jellybeans.
Did you know the first known reference to jellybeans occurred during the Civil War, when a Boston confectioner (believed to be the inventor) encouraged Americans to send the candy to soldiers?

A special one for the trick or treat bags.
They've been siloed in a secret place, treated with a process known only to a select few.
They'll reach maturity late Halloween night.
Each is unique with its own collection of ghoulish goodies.
Supplies well stocked but orders coming in faster than you would have imagined.
Advisory: Not for consumption.
Contents will rapidly grow into pets.
Parental supervision advised.
Happy Shocktober.
I'm just back from a 4 day road trip and will come around to at least view some of your photos.
I hear Yahoo is on it's way out and that Flickr could shut down due to revenues.
I hope to know in time to retrieve the thousands of images I have on the site.
Iconic symbols of the city of St. John’s, Newfoundland, what was once run down is restored, vibrant, and a popular tourist destination. Here, on Gower street near Willicott’s Lane, the sun broke through the clouds to brilliantly showcase one of the many streets with brighly coloured houses.

St. John's, Newfoundland is famous for the simple, colourful heritage row-houses that line the steep hills. They're affectionately called "Jellybean Houses" or "Painted Ladies"

Panorama
Jellybean Row, the colourful houses in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, are amazing!. These homes appear as boxes and are all in line on a straight street. This 180 degree view is made from 13 images. I chose it because no cars were parked in front. The power lines have mostly been removed in PS to show more of the houses themselves.
Something sweet and something sour, for Macro Mondays theme "opposites", these are diametrically opposing flavors. Also for 2016: one photo each day (206/366)

Part of the bounty of traveling is getting to sample food that is not available at home. It is all about perspective. What looks mundane to others are different to us. These gourmet jellybeans, a gift I gave to my wife, certainly belong to the exotic category to Asian eyes like ours.
