This March 712 was driven by James Hunt in 1972 at the Rothmans 50, held at Brands Hatch (a non-championship race) where he finished 5th (2nd in class). Emerson Fittipaldi won the race in the F1 category, driving a Lotus 72D Ford.
What I particularly like about this car is the delicacy of those mirrors, attached with the thinnest of fixings arranged in that triangular formation.

As I mentioned, Freddie Hunt was at the Silverstone Classic Media Day, as part of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of his father, James Hunt, winning the Formula 1 World Championship.
Shot here in the pitlane sitting on the front wheel of the car that James Hunt drove that year, Freddie was happy to pose for photos, something I'm sure he is more than used to by now.

I'm stampolina and I love to take photos of stamps. Thanks for visiting this pages on flickr.
I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.
By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!
thx, stampolina
For the case you wanna send also stamps - it is possible. (...I'm pretty sure you'll see these stamps on this photostream on flickr :) thx!

Corgi Toys 160 Hesketh 308 F1 racing car from the approx 1:36 range. This has the name 'James' by the driver's compartment, so whoever James was thought he was so important and well-known that he didn't need a second name ...
James Hunt was notorious for his unconventional behaviour on and off the track, which earned him a reputation for cavalier indulgence in both alcohol and sex. Having been part of Formula One when the series was consolidating its global popularity, Hunt's image was the epitome of the unruly, playboy driver, with a touch of English eccentricity (which included dining with his pet German Shepherd, Oscar, at expensive Mayfair restaurants).
Early in their careers Hunt and Niki Lauda were friends off the track. Lauda occasionally stayed at Hunt's flat when he had nowhere to sleep for the night. In his autobiography To Hell and Back, Lauda described Hunt as an "open, honest to God pal." Lauda admired Hunt's burst of speed while Hunt envied Lauda's capacity for analysis and rigour. In the spring of 1974, Hunt moved to Spain on the advice of the International Management Group. Whilst living there as a tax exile, Hunt was the neighbour of Jody Scheckter, and they also came to be very good friends, with Hunt giving Scheckter the nickname Fletcher after the crash-prone bird in the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Another close friend was Ronnie Peterson. Peterson was a quiet and shy man, whilst Hunt was exactly the opposite, but their contrasting personalities made them very close off the track. It was Hunt who discovered Gilles Villeneuve, whom he met after being soundly beaten by him in a Formula Atlantic race in 1976. Hunt then arranged for the young Canadian to make his Grand Prix debut with McLaren in 1977.

Designed by Gordon Coppuck to replace the ageing and highly sicessful M23. The M26 was designed to be lower and lighter with a smaller frontal area and narrower monocoque. The car made its Grand Prix debut in mid 1976 at the Dutch Grand Prix in the hands of Jochen Mass while Hunt drove the older M23.
Following the race it was decided that the car needed further developement, including a redesign of the nose section, and the car was not used again in the 1978 season, or for the opening races of 1977, with McLaren still relying on the M23
The redesigned car made its debut at the 1977 Spanish Grand Prix, with Hunt who retired the car and it was not used for the next GP (Monaco). For the next three races (Belgium, Sweden and France) Hunt drove the M26 while Mass continued with the M23. In France Hunt scored the M26s first points with a third place finish From the British GP (8 races) on both drivers drove the M26. The car scored Championship points each time it finished, but reliability issues clouded the results, Mass finished 4th in Britain and Italy, 6th in Austria and 3rd in Canada. While Hunt won In Britain, USA and Japan two other podium finishes in the second half of the season. Two other potential victories were lost in Austria and Canada through reliability issues when Hunt was leading easily.
The M26 was updated for the 1978 season and Mass was replaced by Patrick Tambay, but results tailed of, Coppuck did an extensive redesign in the mid season, turning the M26 into a partial ground effect car, enlarging the sidepods for the ground effect venturis, redesigning the suspension and adding smaller wings front and rear, but there was no improvement in form. Hunt scored points with a 6th place Spain, 4th Argentina and 3rd in France, while Tambayscored with 6th places in Britain and the USA a 5th in Italy and 4th in Sweden..
The M26 was retired at the end of the season, in 1980 Tiga rebuilt an M26 as a full ground effects car and it was re-engined with a five-litre Chevrolet engine and raced as a Formula 5000.
