UP AC4400 #6725 brings up the rear of the Columbia empties past Hanson Park and then disappears around the Galewood curve in the distance. CP tied down four trains in the yard this Thanksgiving, a pretty rare occurrence in the aftermath of Hunter Harrison's tenure on CP.
Thamesdown Transport number 145 (JAM 145E), was formerly Swindon Corporation Transport number 145, a 1967 Daimler CVG6 with Northern Counties bodywork. Retained by Thamesdown Transport for special duites, the vehicle is pictured parked up off service in Swindon on 15th November 1986.

August Jam at Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Carolina on 8/10/1974.
What a great adventure the August Jam was for me I was 16 years old. Me my brother and 2 of his friends went in our Mom's car from Fort Wayne, Indiana. We were there for almost 4 days. On 8/8/1974 they played on the loud speakers Richard Nixon's resigning speech. The next morning gates opened we got middle front of the stage and camped there 8/9/1974. We even saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer doing sound checks the day before the concert, they even talked with us....so cool. we did manage to stay there through out the whole concert but was very crowded. I took pictures but my favorite is still hanging at the top of my bullention board today (7 snap shots of the whole crowd, panoramic pics 001 & 002) and a bumber sticker from there. We had so much fun the entire time!!! Hope that you enjoy these 30 pictures.

La famille des Prunellidés est une petite famille du domaine paléarctique, forte d'un unique genre et de 12 espèces. L'une d'elle sort du lot en occupant le sud de la péninsule arabique.
Les accenteurs sont de petits passereaux d'une 15e de cm de longueur environ, au plumage discret et cryptique à dominante brune. Certains ont tout au plus la poitrine orange.
À une exception près, ce sont des oiseaux d'altitude ou de latitude élevée et de milieux plutôt ouverts. Leur activité est très tournée vers le sol où ils recherchent leur nourriture, progressant par petits bonds successifs, le dos voûté, les ailes agitées de mouvements nerveux rapides. Leur bec assez fort leur permet de fouiller la litière.
Leurs mœurs reproductrices, autant que l'on sache par les quelques espèces suffisamment étudiées, sont assez complexes et sortent fréquemment du cadre de la monogamie. La nidification a lieu à même le substrat ou à faible hauteur dans un buisson, jamais dans un arbuste élevé, encore moins dans un arbre.
Le grégarisme inter-nuptial s'observe chez certaines espèces mais n'est pas généralisable. De même, certaines sont parfaitement sédentaires, d'autres migratrices partielles, d'autres encore totales, suivant les conditions d'environnement.
Une seule espèce, la plus plastique écologiquement parlant, l'Accenteur mouchet, peut être considérée proche de l'homme et tributaire de sa gestion des habitats.

ok so i got some requests to see some of the shots i did with a face full of jam.
this was one of the more jammy shots. doesn't look too bad from this angle, but the other side of my face was still covered!
after i took the initial bunch with a single smear i decided to add some more. then things just got out of hand, so i tried to take some off. did not come off as easily as i hoped it would. in the process, ended up with some bits of toilet paper stuck to me!
The bread. Started with a sponge of 300g rye sourdough starter, 500g wholemeal wheat flour (from the Winchester water mill) and 650g water. Left sponge to develop overnight, in the morning added another 200g wholemeal flour, 400g strong white flour and 23g salt, kneaded the dough until elastic then left for 90 minutes. Stretched and folded and left for another 90 minutes, then the same again. Shaped into three loaves (two bigger and one smaller), put into lightly greased loaf tins, put each in a plastic bag and left in the fridge to prove for 18 hours. Next morning baked loaves in the oven for 35 minutes (max temperature at first, then turned down to 200degC after 5 minutes). The timings were just whatever was convenient.
