My babygirl turns 9 today!!! Exactly nine years ago, to the minute, I gave birth to my second child. A girl named Luna Jobayla. A lifechanging moment, even more than the birth of my first daughter. This time I was alone. Pretty exciting and sometimes scary and overwhelming. Never someone to talk to, hand things over to or just have a night off. But I am blessed with my kids, they've given me so much love, joy and pride. And the older they get, the more I love being a mom. Happy birthday Luna! Enjoy your day today. palson: Wat zoek je precies?

iriswildeboer: @palson Ik heb zelf alleen een iphone dus in principe is iedere dslr megagaaf. Ik heb zelf nu die Nikon D60 te leen en dat is een fantastisch ding, maar ik ben gek op allebei de lenzen en dat maakt het nóg weer duurder. Ik heb echter ook goeie verhalen gehoord over Sony. Bij die ik te leen heb zit een superflitser en 2 objectieven, een 55-200 en een 18-55. Ik weet de verschillen allemaal niet hoor tussen de body's. Hoe dat technisch werkt met sluiter, diafrahma en weet ik wat nog meer.

renee59: Kijk een naar een tweedehandse D50 of D70....

senzi_: Ik en ook een amateurtje ;-) heb sinds een paar weken de Nikon D3100aangeschaft. Prima instapmodel! Baal wel dat ik niet een pakket heb gekocht met een betere lens dan 18-55. Ben nu aan het sparen voor 18-200!

Our boiler is now really broken. And when you go out and see leafs like this one...let's just say it's not a good time for broken boiler

So the curtains are closed to keep the cold from the windows away, the oven is on with the door open and I think I'll light a lot of candles instead of a lamp to create some heat....and go to bed early where it's always warm

First thing tomorrow: call the mechanic. Hopefully someone can come over soon to fix it because I want my hot water back too!

My 'baby'girl turned 12 today. Twelve! Wow! That's a milestone. Going into puberty, starting secondary school (high school), getting fed up with your mum  but still need her for everything you want  It's a big day for her  But it is for me as well. So much has happened in our lives in twelve years, we (I) changed so much, had to deal with awful things and had fun and laughter. I'm so very proud of the girl that made me mother. And just look at her face, she's still so open, spontaneous, honest, innocent and wonderfull (and she just opened a beautiful present) . Hope she never loses her open and wondering way of really looking and seeing all those special things that surround us. Having a 'childs eye' really is a treasure to cherish.

iriswildeboer: Ik had het recept beloofd. Het is in het engels, mijn vriendin is tenslotte Ierse. Ik hoop niet dat je vragen hebt want ik ben vreselijk in de keuken, ik kom er het liefst alleen om koffie te zetten (en zelfs dat is oploskoffie).

Baked Alaska, so simple.

Sponge base. 3 eggs beaten with 75 g of caster sugar till fluffy and can leave a trail. Then sieve in 75 g of flour. Mix with a metal spoon. Bake for 15 minutes, make sure it is cooked. Stick a knife in the middle if it comes out clean it is cooked.

Cool base. Cover with icecream and then cover with mergiune mix. The icecream must be fully covered or the mission will fail! Merigune mix 4 egg whites, beaten until stiff the fold in 200g of caster sugar. Hey presto!! Cook baked Alaska in a hot oven until golden brown,12/15 mins.

Ik zou zo graag die camera willen leren kennen, alle mogelijkheden uitproberen maar zo lang heb ik 'm ook weer niet te leen. Het is wel zo'n beetje het allerleukste wat er is :-)

iriswildeboer: @renee59 Heb je misschien nog een tip voor de instellingen als ik sportende, bewegende mensen vast wil leggen? Ik heb gisteren een tijdje wat basketballers in het park gevolgd maar dat is echt moeilijk. Ik dacht heel wat leuke plaatjes te hebben maar thuis bleef er niets van over :-(

renee59: Om bewegende mensen vast te leggen kies je een snelle sluitertijd, bijv. 1/500 of 1/1000 ( laatste is sneller). Snellere sluitertijd betekent groter diafragma ( f kleiner getal) om dezelfde lichthoeveelheid te krijgen. Lukt dat niet, dan kan je je iso verhogen. Staat bij Nikon standaard op 200 en als je die op 400 zet heb je meer ruimte. Andere tip: zoek via google een nikon digitutor voor je camera (D ??) Laatste tip: kom als ik terug ben een boek bij me lenen 

renee59: Overigens bedoel ik met 'laatste tip' niet dat ik verder geen tips wil geven... Integendeel, vind het leuk.

iriswildeboer: @renee59 Hihihi dat dacht ik niet hoor. Ik was superblij met je tips en heb vandaag op alles wat beweegt geoefend, van vlinders tot vogels, van rennende kinderen tot voorbijscheurende scooters. Blijft moeilijk maar t gaat al een stuk beter. Iso stond trouwens al op 800.

Jullie moesten nog samen een leven vol herinneringen opbouwen. Dat is nu een dubbel rouwproces. Loop jezelf niet voorbij hoor, verdriet mag er zijn, ook wanneer mensen niet weten hoe ze ermee om moeten gaan. Hou je eigen tempo aan! *Virtuele knuffel*

iriswildeboer: @dutchlady28 Ik probeer het niet meer via m'n computer, ik kreeg de tip om filterstorm te gebruiken. Dat gebruikte ik al maar was de tekstoptie vergeten (teveel apps). Mooie van filterstorm is de enorme hoeveelheid fonts die je kunt gebruiken. Dat zocht ik.

iriswildeboer: @dugmackie You really should, it's well worth the $20,- I got mine at photojojo.com Haven't heard of any other place they sell them. Shipment took only 5 days from the USA to the Netherlands and I chose the cheapest shippingcosts 

Today we celebrate #LiberationDay in the Netherlands. Besides commemorating the end of the german occupation after WWII, we celebrate the freedom we have today. And I'm always thinking of all the people in the world who do not live in freedom. That's what I teach my kids, think about what you, as one person, can do to avoid 'wars'. I want them to think about what they would do in conflict situations, to start in their own small world. And try to look at every conflict from other perspectives. Just a little sympathy or consideration can be the difference between fighting and playing. It's actually no different for grownups. That's what my picture today is about. Looking from another point of view makes it look like a different flower but it's still the same, it has that yellow heart, even if you can't see it. Have a beautiful day 
