So after deciding to order my largest boy, I added his picture to my iWatch. I think I will be staring at this hottie up until he comes home xD

Well, I had a little birthday on Friday, past and my wife got me a lovely gift!! Yes, the new iWatch Series 2 is now "locked" on my wrist!

This is what I "wanted" for Christmas but Christmas came early - I might just have to show a photo of the actual watch during the course of this week!!

Eva: Dave, what's all this buzz about Apple's new product launch?

Dave: Do you mean the Apple Watch?

Eva: Yeah, the iWatch. Tons of media press for something I do every day. I watch everything that goes on in the yard.

Dave: I believe it's the Apple watch, although lots of people are calling it the iWatch. People aren't really sure why it's not called the iWatch - maybe someone beat them to the name.

Eva: Darn tootin' someone beat them to it. I already told you that iWatch the yard all day long!

Dave: Nope, not quite the same thing. It's a new wearable device that links with an iPhone to do e-mail and texting from your wrist.

Eva: Seriously, people are excited about this?

Dave: Yes.

Eva: Can I assume those people have wrists? My paws are too dainty to consider calling anything a wrist.

Dave: I'm not sure it's just about having a wrist. I love Apple products, yet even I can't imagine why I would want it. But for some reason lots of people seem really excited.

Eva: Does it have birds?

Dave: Seriously, birds?

Eva: Yeah, birds. Love the things. iWatch them all day long. If Apple's iWatch doesn't have birds, I'm not interested.

Sorry, horrible pun. And then I made it into a long rambling story centred around a weak horrible pun.

We're starting a bit of a yard renovation (total do over), so we now have plenty of dirt, and an absent gate. Although that has limited Eva's outdoor run time, the small birds flocked to our yard this week. Dozens of them. And that's kept her at full attention. Am I a bad person for considering putting in bird houses and feeders on the new fence? Not sure if it's entertainment or torture for her to have to watch them from behind the glass.

A colour version is also on my photo stream.

Now that Apple Inc. has challenged mobile phone manufacturers to a UI smackdown, it's time for the erstwhile computer company to tackle the next consumer electronic category in need of a wiseup - watchmakers.

Think about your Ironman or Cardinal or whatever. How fast can you set a countdown timer, change an alarm, reset the time or clock a lap? You get my point.

Now, take Apple's widgets, multitouch button-less interface, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and slip it all into a digital ticker that makes setting a timer as easy as arcing your finger around a bezel. That's the Apple iWatch.

Connected wirelessly to an iPhone or Powerbook and it would be a great way to be alerted to email, text messages, RSS alerts etc. Even solo, it would be a great, easy-to-use timepiece.

Under $99 and coming before the end of the year. That's my Guess.

You're wide-angled!! (Sigma 12-24mm @ 15mm).
