“An interstellar corvette cosmonaut drifts towards earth in a scene for “Heavy Metal”, an Ivan Reitman-Leonard Mogel Production produced by Ivan Reitman from a screenplay by Dan Goldberg and Len Blum. Gerald Potterton directed the Columbia Pictures summer release.”
Tesla Schmesla, I’ll take the ’58? - '60? ‘Vette any day!
😉
Tangentially:
1. I think Chevy had a neat concept car called the ‘Astro-Vette’?
2. Is that the Orion Nebula/M42 & M43?
Links to the Spacex/Tesla connection abound, the following being a few:

This sweet poster arrived this morning, which commemorates the annual "Crazy For Cult" art show at Gallery 1988 in LA. Mike Mitchell did a great job in capturing the likenesses of all of the characters & put them into a clever context.

Vintage postcard. Photo: Universal / UIP. Robert Redford in Legal Eagles (Ivan Reitman, 1986).
With his all-American good looks, Robert Redford (1936-2025), who died today, was one of the biggest Hollywood stars of the 1970s. In classics such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Sting (1973), and All the President's Men (1976), he portrayed the intelligent, reliable, and sometimes sardonic good guy. He received two Oscars: one in 1981 for directing Ordinary People, and one for Lifetime Achievement in 2002. In 2010, the actor, director, producer, businessman, environmentalist, philanthropist, and co-founder of the Sundance Film Festival was appointed Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur in France. Redford was 89.

I found this 8x10 photograph in a box at the goodwill several years ago. I have never seen this still before. It seems to be an actual photo from a negative. Does anyone know anything about this? Obviously it's from the original Ghostbusters. I'm just curious as to who may have taken it or where it came from.

While many faithful fans may feel aggrieved to learn Sony Pictures were at one point looking sue original star Bill Murray for his refusal to return for GHOSTBUSTERS 3, things have now moved on with BRIDESMAIDS director Paul Feig now at the helm of an original new story. Things have moved up a...
This is a promotional spot for the Atari 2600 Ghostbusters game. The game was actually a port of the Commodore 64 computer game.
Ad for a group of 4 Activision NES games. Most notably, the Ghostbuster II video game and the Three Stooges video game. I actually owned the Stooges game and I thought it was a lot of fun.
Peter (Bill Murray) convinces Ray (Dan Aykroyd) to take out a mortgage on his childhood home and use it for start-up capital. The trio checks out an empty firehouse to use as a headquarters, and while Egon (Harold Ramis) enumerates the many problems with the building itself, Ray is beside himself with excitement at the prospect of living and working there, especially with the fire-fighter pole in the middle of the firehouse.
Legendary GHOSTBUSTERS director Ivan Reitman marks quite the departure with his latest project. Released in the US earlier in the year to some impressive reviews, DRAFT DAY makes its way to our shores October 3rd with Kevin Costner leading the drama centred in the world of the NFL during its...
Ray (Dan Aykroyd), Egon (Harold Ramis) and Peter (Bill Murray) make chitchat conversation with a guest (Murray Rubin) outside the elevator, and they tell him they are going to kill a cockroach, to which the guest answers, "That's gotta be some cockroach." He takes the next elevator.
As we all know by now, BRIDESMAIDS’ Paul Feig is directing a reboot of the classic supernatural comedy franchise GHOSTBUSTERS after penning a screenplay with THE HEAT’s Kate Dippold. We’ve had regular collaborators of Feig’s linked to the lead roles of the all-female...

The Ghostbusters sit around enjoying dinner when Janine (Annie Potts) finally gets a call about a ghost. Peter (Bill Murray), Ray (Dan Aykroyd), and Egon (Harold Ramis) quickly dress, and race out of their headquarters, to the Sedgwick Hotel, where the manager (Michael Ensign) informs them of a ghost on the 12th floor.
It’s certain to get a mixed response, much like the project Paul Feig is currently prepping, but it’s been confirmed that Sony Pictures are expanding their rebooted GHOSTBUSTERS franchise. Following their first look deals, Joe and Anthony Russo are set to direct and produce GHOST...

Kind of. She's in the green dress. This was the best photo I could get of her. To her left is actress Amanda Seyfried. Director Atom Egoyan is ushering them all off stage, just as soon as they'd arrived. The mayor of Toronto, David Miller, is at the extreme right.
