Well, this was my first time & perhaps my one & only time.

Yesterday Jer & I took my parents & their little dog to the coast in Santa Cruz. Their little dust mop dog, Ginger had a blast!

Then we got hungry, so we headed to the wharf for some lunch. As Jer was looking for a parking place, I saw this old pelican waddling around, so I had to jump out of the car, of course!

I approached him with a little bit of hesitation, but before your could say pelican three times I was petting the old guy. He really seemed to like the top of his sweet head rubbed, but I initally got his attention with a little neck rub. Pity it was such a dreary grey day, but whatever! I petted a pelican!!! & even got a few quick shots of him while I made my family starve. ;-)

Anyway, just dropped my parents off to the airport a short while ago. Miss them already. When I returned from the airport, Elroy was looking at the front door waiting for them to come indoors. So I let him out & he circled the car, expecting them to climb out. I thought that was kind of cute & endearing.

I'll be catching up with your photostreams the next few days. I also have a slew of photos. Heck... I still have a ton of photos from the October road trips. Can we postpone Christmas? ;-)

Large if you wish.

I share a bit about my weekend over at this post

My sister's wedding is officially a week away, and I spent the night with her and her fiance to offer some printer/template/futzing assistance so they could get their place cards finished and ready to take over to the hotel. It was fun to just relax and talk before we got down to business, and it's always nice when moderate computer skillz come in handy. (Also librarian alphabetizing skillz, as it turns out.)

this is what ben kweller looks like when your lens filter is all fogged up from sitting in the trunk of your car during the drive to detroit.

Yeah, it's photo of cherry blossoms. I love them. And they're all over my neighborhood. They make me smile. :)

Happy Sunday!

Oh, and it's Joey's birthday today. :)

Oh, and my website is almost done: www.sarahholcombphotography.com/

feist rocked last night at the hammerstein ballroom! such a good show!

too bad i can't rock out the concert shots like james. but i managed to get this one non-blurry shot with the P&S by using a railing as a tripod.

Looking up at the end of my street, early Wednesday (11/17) morning.

Take me back to the beach please! :)

Freedom from the car and stroller. Yay! Going for a little freedom run while everyone else is riding rides.

The Washington Monument serves as some sort of sentinel over the D.C. area. From the top you can see out in four directions, each leading to a different landmark.

The windows were cloudy on the outside so I couldn't get a great shot from the top of the Washington Monument, but I had to share this pic anyway, because it was the coolest experience!

i wasn't exaggerating when i mentioned my clipboard :)

We took our daughter to this Safari park. We can see all the wild animals from inside our own car and even you can feed some of the animals. We fed these zebras carrots and they were pretty "naughty". They would stop right in front of your car or next to your window, trying to stop you until you feed them or they wouldn't move.

Couple of quick poor light shots from my Panasonic HM-TA2. Ugh. Grainy. But it's a video cam, not a pitcher-taker.

Hal 9000 was calling me and gilles yesterday evening. So up we went, straight to outerspace. Had a nice journey. It was awesome overthere. Had some Gui boratto on the background. Frickin maximal music. Don't try to understand that one. You won't.

Anyways. If you want to listen to gui click here, and if you think that you don't want to listen to 1 hour of gui just click here.. Please do. It's a lovely song.

Amazing morning play date with these two and @laurenvecchio. Splash park & lunch. You may judge us for putting phones in their hands but we sat at that table and got to talk for an hour and 45 minutes without an ounce if crying. #itwasawesome
