for Franchise, as a nudge

So my thesis just arrived by UPS. I sent it by PDF to a bindery, where specific instructions had to be followed. I waited and waited. Finally, I wrote and said, "Hello? What's happening? When do I pay?" The woman said I could pay any time, and they'd start the job. WTF? No one said that when I uploaded! There wasn't a place to pay! No one contacted me with the price.

So, hello? Still no bill, but I sent them my credit card.

The price, then, would be in addition to the cost the of degree, which, at $6,000+ semester plus all kinds of other junk, is a shitload of money.

Thank you, Mommy and Daddy. I'm wrapping your $26,000 book in some fancy paper.

Guilty Pleasure

Blackoutman

I have spent the entire day in the kitchen. I made a carrot cake, a butterscotch cream cheese pie with chocolate ganache (cheesecake, for the uninitiated), and cranberry sauce, the very best kind. I'm taking it all to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I leave in the morning and won't get back until Thursday. I am lost without my laptop, but I am found with my dogfaceman.

The things that should be done in the kitchen include cooking, drinking, dancing, and kissing. That is the kind of kitchen we should all have. I'm going to mandate it.

I've done all those things today, even the drinking.

Have a wonderful thanksgiving. Don't eat like I will. (And don't drive like my father.)

If you get the reference above, I love you more.

November 30th.....last day of the month...one of my favorites....today I am Thankful for me...who I am..who I am NOT..who I will never be...who I HOPE to be...I make mistakes...I take things too seriously sometimes...I laugh...I LOVE very deeply...I FEEL very deeply...I cry...{sometimes a lot} I dont mind doing things by myself...{I actually do ALOT by myself} I love to take rides in the car...I like to travel...I am NOT a camper...{I used to be a camper...but that was when my dad did everything...} most of the time I am pretty ok with being me...and I am grateful for that!!!!

These photos are fuzzy by accident - but I think thats great - because it is the general idea that matters!

My friends held hands like the monks do in Asia and laughing, said -" take a picture - Buddhists holding hands - it's ok to be gay - either way - doesn't matter!"

Wicker Park neighborhood - Chicago, IL

Mr. Nice Guy was once a regular guy. cursing at people in traffic, under-tipping waitresses and stealing the neighbor’s newspaper. One day while he was stealing the paper, a fat, furry cat took him by surprise by licking his face (as he was bent over to pick up the paper). Mr. Nice Guy was horrified, but just when he was about to backhand the cat, something came over him--he smiled! He took the paper he was about to thieve and delivered it right to the doorstep of

his neighbor, calling out cheerily “paper’s here Mister Mulligan!” Then he saw old Mrs. Canter struggling with some groceries. He raised his strong arms, calling for her to “wait!” Then, at top speed, Mr. Nice Guy rushed to the woman’s side, taking her groceries and delivering them to her kitchen. But he didn’t stop there. No! He unpacked the groceries and put them in the correct location. So if you find yourself struggling with a menial task, stand up and look out your porch window. If you’re lucky, Mr. Nice Guy just might be coming to your

rescue! Mr. Nice Guy was last spotted in Paris where he helped people pronounce things like “Mr. Nice Guy.”

Ayup... it's extremely scary reproducing the same photograph 24 years after the first one.

Hemp growing on old farmland in Iowa. I'm told this is industrial hemp that was grown to help the war effort in WW2, and which still pops up residually in places. Not the bad stuff. It's quite photogenic, I think.

Not much to say here, except it is kind of special to see myself with hair again. It's been a while.

I got the idea for this from a recent post from ) J@son (.
