When the day is done

Down to earth then sinks the sun

Along with everything that was lost and won

When the day is done.

When the day is done

Hope so much your race

will be all run

Then you find you

jumped the gun

Have to go back where you began

When the day is done.

When the night is cold

Some get by but some get old

Just to show life's not

made of gold

When the night is cold.

When the bird has flown

Got no-one to call your own

Got no place to call your home

When the bird has flown.

When the game's been fought

You speed the ball across the court

Lost much sooner than you would

have thought

Now the game's been fought.

When the party's through

Seems so very sad for you

Didn't do the things you meant to do

Now there's no time to start anew

Now the party's through.

When the day is done

Down to earth then sinks the sun

Along with everything that was lost and won

When the day is done

The bunch of tulips my wife had recently purchased lasted well but today, I'm afraid, was time to say cheerio to them!

No. 6 ~ 365 2018 .... It's All Over!! ....

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

School, I mean. Year 12.

Presented my Year 12 Project on albatrosses this morning, which was the last major bit of schoolwork that I needed to do. It wasn't really a project for marks (it didn't count towards the uni entrance thingy), but it was a great experience for me where I could research and experience albatrosses first hand throughout the year.

Now, who knows what the big bad world has in store for me. Hopefully I can make some headway in it, and I sincerely hope I can take my photography to a higher level in the many years to come.

PS Undying fame to the person who can guess what this bird is...:)

365 Days - Day 64 - It's the morning after the day before, and it's sooooooo depressing watching the news and reading the papers!!

Proctors' arrival. Celebratory students at the end of term. Mill Lane, Cambridge [52.201669, 0.117180]

Last night, we had a spectacular thunderstorm roar through our little corner of the world. I don't remember the winds as being too bad, but the rain was apocalyptic. The deluge pretty much denuded our crabapples, which had been in all of their blooming glory.

As we were leaving this morning, I noticed this scene in our neighbor's yard. I had to stop to photograph it. Kate was in a hurry, but I had to. I'll never see again, in my lifetime, the combination of freshly mowed grass, new mulch, early morning sun, and a carpet of crabapple petals.

Until next spring.

Taken with a Vivitar (Komine) 90/2.8 macro lens. I'm becoming more and more disenchanted with my photography by the day...

for me to move on..

David Seamans:

We cannot change our memories, but we can change their meaning and the power they have over us.

Still smiling...if you can believe that

Too bad no one drank it....

Confusion wanders in

Strides the evening like a king

Chaos and turmoil prevail

Bedlam reigns and hope is drowned

Ah but strangely we settle down

Resigned to the sinking ship on which we sail

It's all over bar the shoutin'

One things for sure

It's all over now

The Paralymic Closing Ceremony rocked Whistler Village last night. I am amazed by the number of homes, cars and businesses still displaying Canadian flags ... like the public library in Lyn Valley, North Vancouver.
