Dave has his jeep all decorated and we went riding the back roads during the snow storm the other day. Dave's favorite character is the Grinch and I got him a grinch cover for xmas.
I was in the front seat enjoying the sunset in Bristol, RI last night as I was waiting for a meeting to start. But at the last minute I threw on my ultra wide angle lens and snapped my view of the sunset in front of me, well, from the back seat ;)
6" longarm suspension, 35" Good year tires, 4:88 gears. Yes, it gets used for what its built for! more pix on the way!

My husband and I went on some backroads tonight and couldn't believe all the huge puddles still left from the snow. Luckily we didn't get stuck either.

The 01 Jeep's track bar decided to fall off again. So we upgraded to a nice thick Grade 8 bolt this time.

Jeeps on the Hell's Revenge 4X4 trail. It's later in the day on a holiday weekend and the ORV's are piling in. We're not 4WD'ers, we both agree that if we got into it, it would be to get to places that are too far in to hike into. But to do it as an activity on it's own? Probably not ... although I do see the appeal.
Moab's Slickrock Trail has been on our to-do list for a while but with it's worldwide reputation as a mountain bike Mecca, it's mobbed with bikers in season. Dodging flying motorcycles and MTB's is not much fun for hikers and it's their trail anyway, so we've stayed away. But there we were, off season this time, so we gave it a try.
It was fan-freakin-tastic, and that's by Moab's already high standards. There were just enough bikers to add interest and with the snowy mountains as backdrop to the slickrock, it was a visual paradise. I wound up with so many photos I liked that I had trouble culling out the losers. Winding up with about twenty photos you like from one day of hiking? That's a good day!

Thanksgiving time again, and we were off to find somewhere different to hike.
This year: Moab.
I'm extending the break from posting the summer photos to post the ones from our Thanksgiving trip to Moab. Sunny, (relatively) warm, great hiking, a good getaway.
At the rate I'm going, it's gonna take until February to get the summer photos up anyway, so why not take a break and post something timely?
