I can't remember where I found this typewriter - I think when I was living in New York, or maybe in Washington, DC. All I know is that I love it, and it's in Orange County right now, and I cooed at it when I was there the other weekend. It has some sticky keys and needs a new ribbon. I took my Surly Midnight Special for one final ride out to Governor's Island before taking it in for the annual tune over at Black Saddle I've got a bit more than the usual overhaul coming with this one. I'm excited for the changes and can't wait to share with you in due time! The snowmageddon on its way as I type this post lets me know I'll be more reliant on the fat bike for commuting the next couple months at least. Be safe and happy winter everyone.

This shot was taken the same day as yesterday's long-exposure shot in Pacifica. Surfma and I started the day at San Gregorio State Beach. I got thoroughly soaked to the top of my thighs for this shot! Fortunately, I snatched the tripod out of the surf. Camera stayed dry, me not so much!
Check out the images in comments {taken with my iPhone} ... proof of my drenched state and a more elegant shot of a master photographer who is savvy enough to stay far enough back from the incoming surf!! Because of me, we had to go back to the house to dry my clothes before we could continue on our photographic journey.

Hugo had today a birthday party of a great friend, and he had a blast...
After that we went into the woods for his picture.. And after some fast Ninja movements I got this =P

It was quite a week, we got permission to join in some projects for Hugo where he gets help for example with emotions and how to handle strangers... its at a farm where they do great things with them! ( as i told last Hugo pic )
Its great that we got these projects in Holland made possible by the state.. Its a hell to get in those projects with all the Government cutbacks, but we did it!!!
And we got putted on ( another ) waiting list.. And meanwhile im moving heaven and earth to get my kid there...
Because great Holland Government cutbacks cutted back the bus drives to get there... So foooooooking handy and logic!
And those days that Hugo need to go are my work days...
My ear is flat by now from pressing that phone to my ear from all the talks... More then 9 hours this week I spended on the phone...
To find out that its gone cost me a 100 Euro a week to get him there!!! ( and thats for 2 days.. actualy i got 3 days... but i got to scared to ask what the costs where then! )
And now while im typing this I swallow a whole bunch of cursing words in...
But well, I never gave up and wont now, and I will move heaven and earth over and over again for my boy...
( I was so fanatic moving heaven and earth that one institution gets a huge inspection now thanks to me, they called me after that news.... Not my intention at all!!! Seams I pulled a string to much!!! So sorry for that! )
Soooooo I got a feeling that those 9 months waiting lists aint for nothing... im gone need to get what my boy needs a taxi to get him there!!!!!!!!!!!!

This picture was actually inspired by the cover of the book. I "stole" this book from the hotel I was staying at in Venezuela, back in July. They had loads of books lying around for the guests to read, so I started reading a random one. I got so into the story, but when the time came for me to leave, I wasn't done yet. So I figured they wouldn't even notice one less book in the pile of old books :)

Bear Mountain Bridge, New York, U.S.A.
I have a really good friend who used to drive over this bridge every day to get to work. Many a photograph has been taken. Several others too, have posted shots of this structure, among them this picture of this bridge. On a recent visit when I asked to be taken there, to see "The Bridge"(Which actually spans the Hudson River), I was immediately struck by the scenery surrounding it. Accordingly, I have tried to incorporate it into my shot of the surrounding area rather than concentrating on the bridge itself.

The day was extremely hot and hazy and the original exposure was very dark and flat with no definition to the trees and a blank sky. I probably should have used a polorizer, but it was in my other camera bag. *doh* This hand held hdr version I originally took as a WTF "backup" has it's drawbacks, but I think that the trees are more defined and despite the haze, there is more depth to the scene. I hope you like it.
Meg came to visit the Memphis girls this weekend for my "going away" party.
So El D had to spend the evening drinking wine with the girls while we took kissing make out pictures...I know...poor guy...RIGHT?
