Thank you very much for your kind comments, favorites and looking

Say's Phoebe scratching an itch on Bear Valley Rd, Colusa Co, California on 1 March 2017.

What do you do when you have an itch but you can't scratch it yourself? Well, you find some nearby bushes to do it for you, of course. :-)

This bull elk took his harem of 14 ladies down to the lake. While the ladies feasted on the leaves, this guy wasn't in the mood for food. That said, he couldn't help but stop by the bushes for some itch relief. I loved the way that he brought his head and antlers up high in this image. Such a great time was had by all ... including the photographer. ;-)

The region has experienced a large amount of rain. This has led to an overabundance of mosquitoes. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. This individual is perched on a marigold flower bud.

The African elephant (Loxodonta africana) is a genus comprising of the African bush elephant. They are herbivores and live in groups.

African elephants are highly intelligent. They have a very large and highly convoluted neocortex, a trait they share with humans, apes and some dolphin species. They are amongst the world's most intelligent species. With a mass of just over 5 kg (11 lb), the elephant brain is larger than that of any other terrestrial animal. The elephant's brain is similar to a human brain in terms of structure and complexity; the elephant's cortex has as many neurons as that of a human brain, suggesting convergent evolution.

Elephants exhibit a wide variety of behaviours, including those associated with grief, learning, mimicry, art, play, a sense of humour, altruism, use of tools, compassion, cooperation, self-awareness, memory and possibly language. All point to a highly intelligent species that is thought to be equal with cetaceans and primates.

This bull Elephant came across this huge rock and immensilly enjoyed scratching itself all over its body before returning to the rest of the herd which had moved further on. Photographed on an early morning game drive in the semi-arid area of Samburu National Reserve, Kenya.

The waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) is a large antelope found widely in sub-Saharan Africa. It is placed in the genus Kobus of the family Bovidae.

The Defasa Waterbuck is a large, robust animal with long, shaggy hair and a brown-gray coat that emits an oily secretion from its sweat glands, which acts as a water repellent. It also has large, rounded ears and white patches above the eyes, and around the nose and mouth and throat. The common waterbuck has a conspicuous white ring encircling a dark rump, while the defassa has wide white patches on either side of the rump.

This handsome male Waterbuck was captured itching itself during a photography safari on an late afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania.

There is something inherently cute about Koalas. They sleep so much each day that movement can be surprising quick. Just got the shutter speed right to get a little foot movement :-)

A finales de agosto muchas agujas colinegras ( Limosa limosa) ya han mudado completamente su plumaje , pero siempre quedan algunas plumas viejas que pican un poco y hay que deshacerse de ellas.

By the end of August, many black-tailed godwits (Limosa limosa) have completely molted, but there are always some old feathers left that itch a little and need to be removed.

When it itches you have to scratch, correct?

Late afternoon shot!

This Great blue heron (Ardea herodias) worked on that particular itch for multiple minutes. It even turned around and attempted a reverse scratch. Nice to see the GBH out of the water and up on a tree at the Springfield Nature Center.
