Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments below. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Situated on a hillside overlooking Uig Bay, on the Isle of Skye, is the pretty little Free Church, basked in the evening glow.

Enjoyed this evening in the company of Skyebaggie, who was kind enough to show us several locations

Our thanks again Anton, your help was much appreciated

Hope to return that favour at some point

The Holy Isle (Scottish Gaelic: Eilean MoLaise) is one of a number of islands in the United Kingdom which go under the name "Holy Island". It is located in the Firth of Clyde off the west coast of central Scotland, inside Lamlash Bay on the larger island of Arran. The island is around 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) long and around 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) wide. Its highest point is the hill Mullach Mòr.

The island has a long history as a sacred site, with a spring or holy well held to have healing properties, the hermit cave of 6th century monk St Molaise, and evidence of a 13th-century monastery. An old Gaelic name for the island was Eilean MoLaise, Molaise's Island; this is the origin (via Elmolaise and Limolas) of "Lamlash", the name of the village on Arran that faces Holy Island.

Some runic writing is to be found on the roof of St Molaise's cave and a Viking fleet sheltered between Arran and Holy Isle before the Battle of Largs.

In 1549, Dean Monro wrote of the "little ile callit the yle of Molass, quherin there was foundit by Johne, Lord of the iles, ane monastry of friars, which is decayit."[10]

this is how i feeling it ...

Thank you all for support!

This point-and-shoot photo of the Isle of Skye was taken in 2006. The island lies off Scotland's north-west coast. It is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides, and is joined to the mainland by a bridge.

Ardwall Isle, a tidal island in Fleet Bay. Once the site of a 5th/6th c. chapel, a 13th c. hall, an 18th c. tower and used as a base for smuggling. An unbelievable amount of history on one tiny island.

Another interesting Far-East sim: The island of Pandasia, mystic with a Zen atmosphere for nature lovers, relaxing and taking photos or taking a boat trip. the sim is fully open including the beach side house. Good visit!

SCOTLAND

UK

The Isle of Skye, connected to the northwest coast of Scotland by a bridge, is known for its wild landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. The largest island in the Inner Hebrides archipelago, it has a rugged coastline of peninsulas and narrow lochs, radiating out from more mountainous inland areas. The town of Portree, the starting point for exploring the island, has shops and seaside pubs.

Just going through the pictures of my amazing weekend at the Isle of Skye, February 2018. I will remember this as one of the best weekends I ever had. Landscapes were just amazing!

An abandoned house on the Isle of Scalpay.

Scalpay is connected to the Isle of Harris by a bridge which was built in 1997. However, since then the population has continued to decline and is currently around 300.

In 2012 the owner of the island offered Scalpay to the residents for free. The residents voted to take over the running of the island and it is hoped the fortunes of the Scalpay will improve now the community has control of its own destiny.
