Another Islamist beast kills french people. The Turkish army shoots to the Turks. It must Kemal vomit in his grave. The world is scary. Europe is a dunghill.

In Favoriten, the 10th district of Vienna

A year ago, Turkish fascists and Islamists attacked a rally against feminicide by Turkish and Kurdish feminists, which was followed by several days of rioting in the Favoriten district of Vienna. Now, on the anniversary of the attacks, an anti-fascist alliance called for a demonstration to take to the streets against fascism, patriarchy and the war in Kurdistan.

A view of the Roman amphitheater built between the 1st and 2nd century AD on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in the city of Tarraco, now Tarragona. After the decline of the Roman Empire and abandonment during the Islamist control of Spain, it has seen used as the site of a church (subsequently destroyed) a convent, prison and now a prime tourist sight.

The Berlin Memorial Church is the symbolic center of the old West Berlin, a memorial dedicated to peace and reconciliation. Its bell tower remains in ruins, recalling the horrors and destructions of war. After the bombings of the Second World War, the original bell tower, although in ruins, survived, and still bears the nickname 'hollow tooth' because it looks like a hollowed out chicot. Visible from afar, this building erected on Breitscheidplatz, in the immediate vicinity of the bustling commercial district which includes the Tauentzienstrasse and the Ku'damm, is the only one in the square that has been spared by the bombings.

In the same square, Breitscheidplatz, on December 19, 2016 at the Christmas market, an Islamist terrorist attack with a van unfolded. It took place around 8 p.m. local time, leaving thirteen dead and more than fifty injured.

During the Islamist terrorist attack in downtown Vienna on November 2, when a lone gunman shot four people and injured 23 others before he was shot dead by the police, somebody allegedly shouted out of his window: "Schleich di, du Oaschloch!"

This sentence became a slogan comparable to the slogan "Je suis Charlie" after the 2015 shooting in France, but only in German speaking countries, because it isn't easy to translate it appopriately. "Get lost, asshole" is just a very vague and imprecise translation.

The demand "Schleich di" (literally "Sneak off!") in Bavarian and Austrian German reveals the mentality of this part of German speaking countries. It implies the person addressed isn't welcome here, but it also implies the self-confident, generous proposition to avoid being given a hard time by going away immediately. It implies the feeling of strength and power. The demand itself isn't rude, it only becomes so combined with "Oaschloch". You could say so to a person who's just climbed over your garden fence in order to steal apples from your apple trees. If you say so to a terrorist who shoots people, you show this asshole how small he is.

And of course this sentence is also applicable to assholes like Donald Trump.

A man stands in front of a memorial wall to remember the victims of a tragic terrorist attack in Bali, Indonesia on October 12, 2002. A triple attack of Islamist origin which claimed the lives of over 200 innocent people. There is never an end to human madness and evil, but you must always fight and never give up. The monument is located in London along Horse Guard Rd and at the beginning of King Charles St, right between the English government buildings.

So much happening right now, so many pieces being moved about the chess board of the ever-expanding realm of human consciousness. And yet so few actually now what is going on. That’s why they call it Esoteric.

The invasion of soldier age Islamist illegal migrants onto western shores, all attacking with knives (ever noticed that?) modus operandi of the field of battle, yet, they’re as much pawns in this game as the victims are, of course I don’t expect a nation’s society to stand idly by when rape and murder is beset upon them, however, after two world wars (Imperialist) then the desecration of Palestine by Israel (Zionist) and now the aforementioned activities (Wahhabism), neatly allowing Israel to re-adjust the narrative making themselves look to be good guys now, aided by the Bondi Beach incident (Interesting timing) this is a slow motion methodology of “Poisoning the Well” a CIA narrative altering strategy and method of pursuing propaganda. So thus, the final initiative for the oil pipeline and reserves can be tapped into beyond Palestinian shores. And beyond the 3 aforementioned factions are the ones who really pull the strings, not your governments.

In recent history: First it was the money (Federal Reserve / Central Banking), second it was the territory and central bank implementation (Middle East Wars), then it’s the minerals (Oil and Agricultural take over) then it’s population control (Constant Fear, Vaccines, Digital ID’s and Internet “Safety” Bills, etc). Marching toward a world central government, single world currency and one world religion.

If you still think it’s Left vs Right, you haven’t got a clue, if you still blame your world “Leaders” and Government than you haven’t got a clue, if you listen to “Alternative” news agencies who only steer the hate and division, then your attention is in the wrong place and you haven’t got a clue. The two great time lines have become very apparent, the kicker is that the ones on the lower time line won’t even realise it, somewhat akin to a patient with Alzheimer’s who won’t realise they are dying from Alzheimer’s, and those at the higher time line look down at the lowers and despair for them!

For those of the higher realm, do not engage with the lower realities, you can only retain a higher vibration, equip oneself with knowledge and go forward (transcend consciousness). If you don’t, you’re just amongst the people of echopraxia!

I hope everyone is finally waking the fuck up and so as always, thank you! 😊

The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is located in the center of Breitscheidplatz at the entrance to Kurfürstendamm, one of the most famous avenues in Berlin, the German capital. This Protestant church was built between 1891 and 1895 according to a project by Franz Schwechten paying homage to the first German emperor, William I.

The church was destroyed in 1943 in the bombings of the Second World War and only its broken bell tower and some ruins remained.

A new church was built next door in the 1960s, a very modern octagonal building with blue stained glass windows, but the Berliners refused the total demolition of the ruins.

On December 19, 2016, an Islamist terrorist truck ram attack took place at the Breitscheidplatz Christmas market, around 8 p.m. local time, leaving thirteen dead and more than fifty injured. The attack was claimed the following day by the Islamic State organization.

I didn't expect i will share this photo in such circumstances.

Crocus City stands on the stripe of land outside the Moscow's border, right between Moscow Circular Road (МКАД) and the river. It consists of a few commercial buildings: few malls, oceonarium and finally music hall / exposition hall - a very large pavilion left to the Giant Wheel on this photo.

Yesterday's night it has been under a terrorist attack allegedly executed by 4-5 migrants from Tajikistan and ISIS claimed to stand behind it.

By now the media claim 115 people died and more than a hundred hospitalized, many in critical condition. There is no official info yet but i believe about a half of the victims could die because of the intoxication due the fire caused by the attackers while the victims were hiding somewhere in the building.

This seems to be the major failure of our security services in ages. When Russia got involved in the fight on ISIS in Syria in 2015 the islamists threatened us badly, but backthen a few attacks were prevented by FSB (as i remember also a group of Tajik nationals were caught once). But in today's reality our security services are busy of putting in prison hundreds of people who verbally opposed the war in Ukraine or the anti-corruption activists related to Navalny, as they are now called the "extremists" as well as the LGBT movement etc. Of course they have not enough time to investigate islamic terrorism, even after being warned by US officials. Pathetic.

edit: 133 died by the end of 23.03.2024

Martyred Intellectuals Memorial (Bengali: বুদ্ধিজীবি স্মৃতি সৌধ) is a memorial built for the memory of the martyred intellectuals of Bangladesh Liberation War. The memorial, located at Rayerbazar, Mohammadpur Thana in Dhaka[1], was designed by architect Mostafa Ali Kuddus. During the entire duration of Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, a large number of teachers, doctors, engineers, poets and writers were systematically massacred by Pakistan Army and their local collaborators, most notably the alleged Islamist militia groups Al-Badr and [Al-Shams (Bangladesh)|[Al-Shams]]. The largest number of assassinations took place on December 14, 1971, only two days before the surrender of Pakistan army to the joint force of Indian army and Mukti bahini.

Foundation plaque of the memorial, Mirpur, Dhaka.

In the night of 14 December 1971, over 200 of East Pakistan's intellectuals including professors, journalists, doctors, artists, engineers, and writers were rounded up in Dhaka. They were taken blindfolded to torture cells in Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Nakhalpara, Rajarbagh and other locations in different sections of the city. Later they were executed en masse, most notably at Rayerbazar and Mirpur. In memory of the martyred intellectuals, December 14 is mourned in Bangladesh as Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibosh ("Day of the Martyred Intellectuals").

Even after the official ending of the war on December 16 there were reports of hostile fire from the armed Pakistani soldiers and their collaborators. In one such incident, notable film-maker Zahir Raihan was killed on January 30, 1972 in Mirpur, allegedly by the armed Beharis of Mirpur.

The number of intellectuals killed is estimated as follows: educationist 991, journalist 13, physician 49, lawyer 42, others (litterateur, artist and engineer) 16.[2]

Noted intellectuals who were killed between March 25 and December 16, 1971 in different parts of the country included Govinda Chandra Dev (Philosopher, Professor at DU), Munier Chowdhury (Litterateur, Dramatist, Professor at DU), Mufazzal Haider Chaudhury (Litterateur, Professor at DU), Anwar Pasha (Litterateur, Professor at DU), Dr. Mohammed Fazle Rabbee (cardiologist), Dr. Alim Chowdhury (ophthalmologist), Shahidullah Kaisar (journalist), Nizamuddin Ahmed (Reporter), Selina Parvin (reporter), Altaf Mahmud (lyricist and musician), Dr. Hobibur Rahman (mathematician, Professor at RU), Dhirendranath Datta (politician), Ranadaprasad Saha (philanthropist), Lt. NEVER let anyone fool you that the anti-Semitism in the Muslim world has anything to do with the little strip of land called Israel. Destruction of Jews and Christians is a Koranic principle; it is a goal and a shortcut pathway to heaven for the jihadists.

Prior to Israel's creation there were multiple campaigns by Islamic leadership aimed at mass murder of all Jewish people. Please follow the link above for more information.

As 2016 has come to an end I'm kind of relieved it's over. Politically it has been a one of the worst years I can remember with the rise of populist politics and post-truth all over the world, the breakdown of European unity and of course the arrival of Islamist terror attacks in Germany. On a family level the death of a loved one hit us and we are still reeling from it. Personally I just tried to move along. My photography suffered because of it and the almost complete loss of my camera gear in Iceland was the sad culmination of this development.

Still, there were moments of hope and joy in 2016 as well and I guess after such a year it can only get better now. Even though I rarely went out to photograph the few occasions when I did still showed me why I care so much about photography. These rare moments when suddenly everything comes together and you can just observe in wonder is what gets me going. During our trip in Iceland I had several of these moments but I found this photo from a couple of years back most fitting. It shows the snow covered plains of the Black Forest which were devastated by a huge storm several years ago. You can still see how nature is affected by it but when the sun broke through the ravaged landscape suddenly came to life. And an explosion of colors changed it to something very beautiful and hopeful looking.

I hope I will experience some more of these moments in 2017 and be able to share them with you. I think these are the moments every photographer longs for and for me it is all about sharing these breathtaking occasions here with you. Wish you all a Happy New Year! Looking forward to photograph and post more often again this year. I already have some great ideas and locations in mind.

Atlas mountains, Morocco, taken in January. 2 innocent tourists were butchered by Islamist terrorists in this area this week, I'm shocked at the lack of coverage of this in mainstream media (nothing in San Francisco news, nor Turkish media), shame on news sites that don't show this on the front page, and a smaller shame on the sites that make it seem the women accidentally fell on a knife and beheaded themselves. I don't want to bother with links, this is a photo website I know, but EVERYONE needs to be aware of what happened, you can google the rest, just when you think it's safe............

Passengers are greeted as cargo is unloaded from a Peugeot bush taxi or taxi-brousse in front of the Great Mosque in Djenné, an ancient trading town and center of Muslim scholarship strategically situated in the Inland Niger Delta region of Central Mali, West Africa.

While travel by shared bush taxi is slow, uncomfortable, and prone to breakdowns, it can be a highly entertaining experience and remains an essential mode of travel throughout the region.

Bush taxis of this kind tend to leave only when they are fully occupied. That can take several hours to a full tedious day of waiting before departure. They are known to break down with an excess of passengers and cargo. My ride in the back of this small pickup was shared with nine or ten crammed passengers, several sacks of millet on the cargo floor, and a clutch of clucking chickens.

Djenné’s grand mosque is considered the world’s largest adobe building and one of the greatest achievements of Sudano-Sahelian architecture, unique to the semi-arid Sahel zone that stretches across northern Africa just south of an encroaching Sahara.

~~~
Postrscript - Nowadays, easy access to markets, pastures, and farmlands is hampered as ethnic strife and inter-communal violence continue to erupt under a fragile Malian state with a troubled history of military coups.
Chronic insecurities around the ancient town of Djenné and the central regions of Mali are fuelled by longstanding indigenous concerns over the struggle for scarce natural resources - agricultural land for settled farmers versus water and grazing land for semi-nomadic Peul herdsmen.
Recruitment among Peul (Fulani, Fulbe, Fula) herding communities by armed Islamist groups has escalated tensions in the sedentary agrarian communities (Bambara, Dogon, Tellem, Bozo, and others) who rely on access to agricultural lands for their livelihood.
The current military junta has relied on hired mercenaries from the private Russian-backed Wagner Group (now rebranded as the new "Africa Corps") for its security needs, coinciding with the recent French withdrawal of troops from the region. By providing protection to the Malian military regime, Moscow-centred paramilitary groups have increased their power and access to Mali's valued natural resources and critical minerals.
These events in Mali and the neighbouring Sahel states of Niger and Burkina Faso, and elsewhere around the globe, are relevant to the current fratricidal war in Eastern Europe and the larger "big power" struggle over supremacy in a rapidly changing international order.
Peul (Fulani, Fulbe, Fula) herdsmen with traditional wide-brimmed fibre-and-leather conical hats meet at the weekly market in front of Djenné's Great Mosque. A colourful multiethnic gathering of herders and traders converges at the mosque from the surrounding regions and fertile flood plains of the Niger River inland delta in central Mali. Digital film scan, Asahi Pentax Spotmatic, shot directly under the noonday sun, circa 1976.
The Great Mosque of Djenné towers over the market in a seemingly apocalyptic backdrop on this day. The mosque is considered the world’s largest adobe building and one of the greatest achievements of Sudano-Sahelian architecture, unique to the semi-arid Sahel zone that stretches across northern Africa just south of an encroaching Sahara.
These Peul herdsmen are likely from the class of “free nobles” (mostly nomadic herders, religious and political leaders, some tradesmen and sedentary cultivators) at the top of a highly stratified caste-based Peul society.
Ethnographers distinguish this class from lower-tiered occupational groups or “castes” (griot story tellers and song-praisers, artisans, blacksmiths, potters, woodworkers, dress makers) and descendants of slaves (labourers, brick makers, house builders).
Madrid Atocha (Spanish: Estación de Madrid Atocha), also named Madrid Puerta de Atocha–Almudena Grandes, is the first major railway station in Madrid. It is the largest station serving commuter trains (Cercanías), regional trains from the south and southeast, intercity trains from Navarre, Cádiz and Huelva (Andalusia) and La Rioja, and the AVE high speed trains from Girona, Tarragona and Barcelona (Catalonia), Huesca and Zaragoza (Aragon), Sevilla, Córdoba, Málaga and Granada (Andalusia), Valencia, Castellón and Alicante (Levante Region). These train services are run by Spain's national rail company, Renfe. As of 2019, this station has daily services to Marseille, France.
On 11 March 2004, packed arriving commuter trains were bombed in a series of coordinated attacks, killing 193 people and wounding 1,800. The official investigation by the Spanish Judiciary determined the attacks were directed by a Islamist terrorist cell.
Rechtlich geht es in der Hauptsache um den Tatvorwurf der Mitgliedschaft in einer terroristischen Vereinigung nach § 129 Strafgesetzbuch (StGB) oder der Unterstützung einer terroristischen Vereinigung im Ausland gem. § 129a Abs. 5 i.V.m. § 129b StGB. In der Sache geht es in den Verfahren etwa um die Finanzierung des Terrors, um die Bildung von Netzwerken, Vermittlung und Handel mit Waffen, Ausbildung in Herstellung von Sprengsätzen und natürlich auch die Ausreise nach Syrien, um sich dort aktiv als IS-Kämpfer anzubieten.
Since the Middle Ages, many towns in German-speaking countries have had a "Judengasse" (literally "Jewish Lane") where the Jewish population lived and worked. Here is the one in Vienna. Today it is located in the middle of the nightlife quarter known as the Bermuda Triangle in Vienna's 1st district.
On November 2, 2020, an Islamist terrorist raged here: he shot four people dead and injured 23 others before being shot dead by the police.
Armin.Fuchs.Deutschland
The community board meeting took place in order to discuss the proposed mosque to be built next to ground zero. While the project is usually referred to as the “mosque at ground zero”, the project’s official name is the Cordoba Initiative. The Imam and the developers were in attendance to present the project, and many politicians (or rather their representatives) were on hand, along with many of those in favor or opposed.
First spoke the elected officials, who—in the typical New York political elitist fashion— slandered and insulted their opposition. Councilwoman Margaret Chin spoke before a single opponent of the mosque ever came up to the microphone to state their position, but that didn’t stop her from accusing those against it of “bigotry”.
And while Margaret Chin chose to offend the opposition to the mosque (most of whom present were families of 9-11 victims and first responders) in person, other local figures sent their cronies. A representative of Scott Stringer, President of the Borough of Manhattan, handed out a letter to everyone prior to the meeting in which he refers to the mosque as a “multi-faith community and cultural center” and claims that this “center has been the subject of bigoted attacks that contain a strain of religious and racial hatred more extreme than anything we have seen in NYC for some time.” I guess an attempt to kill hundreds of New Yorkers and tourists at Times Square by an Islamist Faisal Shahzad less than a month prior was not extreme enough for Stringer and, instead of jihadism, Stringer seems to have identified the enemy as a TEA Party leader whom he rips apart throughout this unsolicited letter. While the TEA Party’s opposition is referred to as a “bigoted agenda”, the mosque itself is referred to as a “vibrant and world-class facility in NYC which will promote tolerance and pluralism”. Of course he fails to provide any example of mosques in NYC or in the world that have EVER promoted tolerance or pluralism, but perhaps he didn’t think that any attendee would dare question his superior judgment in the matter. Please be sure to read his disgusting letter
After the political cronies spoke, Feisal Abdul Rauf', the Imam in charge of this “community center” was given time to present his proposal. He started his speech with “for many years I’ve had a dream…(I wonder what Dr. King would have thought of a ‘grand wizard’ proposing to build a “community center” at the site of the bombed 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama). The Imam also claimed that this “community center” would promote multi-culturalism; he was so sure of it that his speech was sprinkled throughout with that deceiving phrase. But his presentation brought with it an unexpected turning point. Not because of anything he planned to share with us in his carefully prepared PC jargoned speech, but because of a question by one of the board members who wanted to know if the proposed “community center” would hold prayer. The Imam said “yes”, to which the board member replied, “then it is a house of worship, not a community center”.
Without any objection to that by the Imam or speakers that followed, the term “community center” began to very gradually disappear. But don’t think that anyone’s opinion actually changed as a result. The supporters of the project “formerly” known as a “community center” still believed that it was somehow related to diversity and that it would in no way be an insult to those who died due to Islamist ideology, nor would it serve as a monument of jihadist victory.
But neither the councilwoman nor the Imam were the most offensive or distasteful of the proponents of the mosque. Daisy Khan of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, who also happens to be Imam’s wife, blew their insults and lies out of the water. (I don’t recall her being introduced as Rauf’s wife at the meeting, but I can’t be sure.) She lectured and she yelled – yes, yelled – at the families of victims, the first responders, and her fellow New Yorkers. She yelled that she is “tired of bearing the cross [and will do so] no longer” because apparently she and the Muslim community were the real victims of the 9-11 attacks—not the families who lost their loved ones, not the cities that lost their monuments, and not the country that lost its feeling of security.
Without a single mosque destroyed and with very few anti-Muslim incidents, hearing from this woman about her supposed victimization in that auditorium was absolutely sickening. It didn’t help when for weeks after (and prior) she dominated the time on television appearing calm and together and claiming among other nonsense – I kid you not – that the reason they chose the ground zero site to build a mosque is to provide a “blow to the extremists”. I’m sure radical Muslims would just hate it if New York built a mosque on the ground where American buildings were destroyed and thousands of Americans were murdered by jihadists … right? READ HER RIDICULOUS QUOTE AGAIN. Now listen to it for yourself from the horse’s mouth because I wouldn’t have believed it either. (starts at 1:10) www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7WbTv_gsx4&playnext_from=TL&...
Other supporters of the mosque included two priests and a rabbi (no, it isn’t a start to a joke – although I wish it was) of the leftist “co-exist” variety all of whom supported the mosque. And while there were some clergy present that (judging by applause and reactions) opposed the mosque, they did not come up to the microphone. The supporting clergy seemed to have gone to the same rhetoric school as the Imam, using terms like “multi-culturalism”, “tolerance”, “community relations and understanding”, and other jargon that had no actual relevance to the topic.
There was also a Caucasian woman with a baby who introduced herself as someone who had converted to Islam … in 2006, if I’m not mistaken. She lied about how difficult it is to find information and resources on Islam in NY. I say she lied not only because there are hundreds of mosques in the 5 boroughs, but also because as a recent convert she is a prime example of someone who was able to find and act on this information. Of course, she didn’t specify why ground zero is a better location than any other for this apparently “valuable to the city” information about the religion all 911 hijackers belonged to.
Now that I have gone on and on about the supporters of the mosque (aka “community center”) and the temple’s money changers, let me talk about the opponents of a mosque being build at ground zero ... Not a single one of them opposed a mosque being built; the prevailing request was simply “build it somewhere else”.
First opponent to speak was the celebrated publisher, editor, and columnist Pamela Geller. She was the one to point out what Cordoba means to the Muslim world. Cordoba is a city in Spain that was the first major city to fall to Muslim conquerors and become an Islamic caliphate and a symbol of Islamic conquest of the West. She also called the mosque “a shrine to the very ideology that inspired 9-11”. Sure seems a lot more plausible than Daisy’s explanation for why the mosque has to overlook ground zero.
A gentleman who lost his brother in WTC and represents the largest ‘families of victims of 9-11’ groups introduced some of those present who lost loved ones at ground zero. He protested the lectures and the labels that were bestowed on these families for their “legitimate, legal opposition to this Muslim ‘multi-cultural center’”. He pointed out that while there is proposed building of this mosque at ground zero, the committees have refused to allow monuments to the tragedy of 9-11, including the WTC sphere which was heavily damaged during the terrorist attack and has become an iconic symbol of the tragedy. At this time the sphere is temporarily housed at Battery Park. “If we should honor multi-culturalism and diversity at ground zero, we should honor and remember victims of 9-11,” he concluded.
Tim Brown, a former NYC firefighter who lost dozens of his friends and colleagues, fellow first responders, to the jihadist terrorist attack, has been a tireless voice for memories of victims and their loved ones. He questioned where the money for the mosque was coming from. He had received “5 different answers on 5 different occasions from them”, which included my favorite “we don’t have to tell you, talk to our lawyers”, as well as “three different organizations, but [the Imam] refused to name them” and “from American taxpayers”. Mr. Brown also pointed out that Cordoba Initiative has been very deceiving in other ways, such as removing the word “mosque” from their web site despite the fact that they explicitly wrote initially that there will be a mosque at the top of the building (overlooking ground zero).
Questions were also raised about the Imam Rauf, his public statements, and his pro-Sharia stance as described in his publications and interviews. His travels to countries that openly support terrorism and forced Islamization of the West were also questioned and may indicate where funding from the mosque could be coming from.
Follow up note: Listening to the Imam Rauf speak to various news organizations in the days following the meeting, he offered even more non-specific answers to where the money comes from, such as it comes from people who “want to see peace between Muslims and non-Muslims”. Again, nice politically savvy keywords… but no actual answer to a rather direct question he obviously knows the answer to. Trying to hide something, Faisal Abdul?
One of the many victim’s families present was a woman with a photo of her son who was murdered by the Islamic terrorists. She didn’t yell like Daisy, the Imam’s wife, and she did not dish out insults like Congresswoman Chin. Her voice trembled as she mentioned her son’s name and held his photo towards the committee, “this is my son”, she said, “this is firefighter George Kane.” She held back tears as she spoke. She said that “the location [of the mosque] is insensitive to families. It is also insensitive to the voiceless victims the possibility that anyone who supports Islamic extremism could walk on graves of the victims … [it is] an outrage.”
Another woman spoke with a similar shaking voice about her 23-year-old son who “was murdered on September 11th”. She also wasn’t a bigot, but wanted to know “why are you suggesting that it be two blocks from ground zero?”
Mrs. Kane and the others who spoke through tears and with photos of their murdered children in their trembling hands, made me think of what they were being asked to do. Nine years later, they were being asked to “move on” or “heal”, as mosque supporters were suggesting. I can’t even begin to imagine what that ignorant request could do to an eternally grieving mother.
A sweet elderly couple’s last conversation with their son was via cell phone while he was on a hijacked plane… just before he was murdered. They mentioned that there were 20 mosques that located around the area where they lived, and that they would be ok with another one being built close to them, but they also asked for “understanding and sensitivity” when it comes to building one near ground zero.
Yet from the comments of NYC politicians and supporters of the mosque, we know that understanding and sensitivity will not be shown to the victims’ families nor reflect the wishes of voting New Yorkers. They will instead be shown to others who are apparently deemed more – not even equally but more – crucial to the future of NYC and the memories of those who perished in the terrorist attacks.
Here are a few youtube links on regarding this meeting:
They come from the surrounding regions and fertile flood plains of the Niger inland river delta in the Mopti region of central Mali, part of the semi-arid Sahel zone that stretches across northern Africa just south of the Sahara.
The iconic calabash bowls on prominent display are used to carry goods, store grains or prepare fresh fermented cow’s milk traditionally popular among Mali's pastoral Peul communities.
Access to the mosque's interior and rooftop was forbidden to non-Muslims in 1996 after an intrusive display of disrespect by a Vogue magazine fashion shoot inside the grand mosque.
Werner wollte mehr erzählt haben:
Die Reise in die Wüste kann eine Reise zu sich selbst werden. Ich habe sie zwei Mal gemacht, und geblieben davon sind viele schöne Bilder, aber besonders auch der Sand in der Seele, wie mein Mitreisender es nannte, der einen nicht mehr los läßt. Eigentlich wollte ich schon lange wieder da gewesen sein, aber das ist nur begrenzt möglich, und die Sicherheit ist auch nicht mehr geben. Islamistische Terroristen haben am Kontrollpunkt am Ende der Oase Baharira die Posten überfallen und erschossen. Seither werden wohl Waffen aus dem Sudan nach Lybien geschmuggelt, wohl auch durch diese einmalige Gegend. Man kann sich zwischen Sonnenauf- und Untergang dort bewegen, aber wohl wär mir dabei nicht, und das beste Licht verpaßt man auch. Sehr schade
Die nachträglich konzipierte Kuppel, ohne Anlehnung an ihr historisches Vorbild, hat sich zur vielbesuchten Attraktion und zu einem Wahrzeichen Berlins entwickelt. Angemeldete Besucher können das Gebäude durch das Westportal betreten. Nach einer Sicherheitskontrolle können sie mittels eines Aufzuges zunächst auf das 24 Meter hoch gelegene begehbare Dach (im hinteren Bereich der Dachterrasse befindet sich das kleine Restaurant Käfer) gelangen. Die dort aufgelagerte Kuppel hat die Gestalt eines halben Rotationsellipsoids mit einem Durchmesser von 38 m und einer Höhe von 23,5 m. Ihr Stahlskelett besteht aus 24 senkrechten Rippen in Abständen von 15° und 17 waagerechten Ringen in Abständen von 1,65 m mit einer Masse von rund 800 Tonnen, verkleidet mit 3000 m² Glas mit einer Masse von etwa 240 Tonnen.] An der Innenseite winden sich zwei rund 1,8 m breite und um 180° versetzte spiralförmige Rampen von jeweils 230 m Länge zu einer Aussichtsplattform hinauf – 40 m über Bodenniveau – beziehungsweise entgegengesetzt wieder hinunter zur Dachterrasse. Die Scheitelhöhe der Kuppel liegt bei 47 m über dem Boden – deutlich niedriger als bei Paul Wallot. Bis November 2010, solange die Kuppel frei zugänglich war, wurden täglich im Durchschnitt 8000 Besucher gezählt. Die Zahl fiel stark, als der Zugang aus Sicherheitsgründen beschränkt wurde, liegt aber inzwischen bei durchschnittlich drei Millionen Besuchern pro Jahr. Zwischen 2002 und 2019 hat der Besucherdienst des Bundestages 42,3 Millionen Gäste betreut, die das Gebäude samt Kuppel besichtigt haben. Die Besucher konnten auch Debatten verfolgen oder sich durch das Haus führen lassen. Aufgrund von Terrorwarnungen (die Berliner Morgenpost sprach von einer „Gefahr islamistischer Anschläge“) war die Kuppel vom 22. November bis zum 4. Dezember 2010 für Besucher geschlossen. Danach war sie für Einzelpersonen und Gruppen wieder geöffnet, allerdings nur nach vorheriger Online-Anmeldung. Seit Juli 2012 ist eine Anmeldung vor Ort mit einem Vorlauf von zwei Stunden möglich. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstagsgeb%C3%A4ude#Kuppel
