Il musical tratto dall’omonimo libro di Herman Hesse e romanzato dalla cantautrice e regista IsaBeau.
Riconosciuto come Opera Musicale capace della creazione e diffusione di Valori tra gli uomini, il Musical Siddharta, liberamente tratto dal grande classico del 1922 di Hermann Hesse (di cui ricorrono i 50 anni della morte), dal titolo omonimo, ed ispirato ad un altro capolavoro, il film “Piccolo Buddha” di Bernardo Bertolucci, mette in scena la storia del Principe Siddharta che si incammina, lasciando il proprio castello dorato, sulla strada della scoperta della vera essenza della vita e le ragioni della sofferenza, fino a raggiungimento dell’illuminazione interiore, che permette di vivere una vita lunga e realizzata, in cui anche il dolore viene trasformato in saggezza e felicità.

Ruins of Ishan Monastery (Turkey)
The church is a domed cruciform structure. The dome over the central square bay rests on four free-standing piers, each having a diameter of about two-meters.
During the conversion of the church into a mosque, a wall (visible on the left side of this photo) was constructed between the west arm and the central bay, the south and west entrances were closed, a mihrab niche facing in the direction of Mecca was constructed within the closed southern entrance, and the northern annex was converted into a prayer hall.

I saw him on the subway train and with his hoodie up and his dark glasses he had a presence that stood out from the commuters and was a bit mysterious. With his braids protruding from the hoodie, I thought he would make a strong portrait subject and approached him to introduce myself and my project but as we were talking he reminded me that we met a year ago and I had photographed him. With the sunglasses off and his jewelry-decorated hands coming into sight I realized it was true. I apologized and he told me not to worry about it at all and that he would be happy to pose again since we were getting off at the same stop. I was on my way to class and he was on his way to work. Meet Ishan who works (not surprisingly) in the fashion industry.
By this time I was remembering our previous encounter(a year and a half ago) in detail. When I asked Ishan how life has been since our earlier meeting he said things are going well. In addition to his work in fashion, he is also making music and is in the process of recording an album. Unfortunately, it isn’t ready to announce so I can’t provide a link but he did give me his Instagram. It is: www.instagram.com/ishanriley/. As with my original encounter with Ishan, I definitely wanted to include his hands because the jewelry says a lot about his strong sense of style. Neither of us had more than a few minutes before being due elsewhere, but Ishan really wanted to help me out and didn’t rush me at all. I didn’t want to take advantage of the situation so I did a couple of quick photos against a blue background in the atrium where we emerged from the subway and another couple of quick photos on the sidewalk outside which was sheltered by construction scaffolding. In the way these things sometimes happen, a man who appeared under the influence stopped as I was photographing Ishan and said “I get it. It’s a fashion shoot, right?” I went along with it. And that’s just how obvious Ishan’s sense of fashion is. You wouldn’t even have to be sober to see that he stands out from the crowd.
As in our previous meeting, Ishan had a warm and gentle presence and as we hurried on – him to his job in merchandising and me to my class – he gave me a warm handshake and said how nice it was to have met again. The feeling was mutual.
