Port Isaac
Having made our way into Port Isaac on the South West Coast Path, we returned to Port Quin by the gentler inland route, its only 2 miles returning this way. This photo was taken looking back towards Port Isaac, some of you will know the town as Port Wenn from the Doc Martin TV series.

Port Isaac is a small fishing village on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The nearest towns are Wadebridge and Camelford, both ten miles away. Port Gaverne, commonly mistaken to be part of Port Isaac, is a nearby hamlet that has its own history.
I love it. With a green (his favorite color) band-aid for an injured finger, and painted on "scars".
Statue of Sir Isaac Newton by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, 1995, in the Piazza of the British Library. The statue was based on an extremely rare colour print and watercolour of Newton by William Blake which is now in the Tate Gallery.

Isaac Levitan (1860 - 1900) is considered one of the most talented and famous masters of landscape painting in Russia. He studied painting from a young age, at the age of 13 he entered the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The student was diligent in most subjects, but disliked the mandatory for artists to study anatomy. That's when his famous phrase “But there is no anatomy of spring!” was born. Anyway, all exams were passed successfully, and in the last years of his life, the already famous artist Levitan became a teacher at the same institution.
The artist really liked Ples on one of his trips along the Volga in the spring of 1888. As a result, he settled in this town and spent three very productive summer seasons there.
The monument by sculptor Nikolai Dydykin was erected in 1974 near Levitan's house-museum. It's located at the foot of the hill, which is now called Levitan's Hill. There is another Levitan statue at the top of the hill, next to the wooden Resurrection Church, but I like the lower one better.
“Port Isaac is a quintessential Cornish fishing village, known for its narrow, winding streets lined with charming whitewashed cottages that overlook a picturesque harbour, locally referred to as the Platt. Since 2004, it has gained fame as the fictional village of Port Wenn in the BBC series Doc Martin.
With a fishing heritage dating back to the early fourteenth century, Port Isaac has always been deeply connected to the sea, and fishing continues to play a significant role in the lives of its residents. The village’s name comes from the Cornish Porthysek, meaning 'corn port', a nod to its historic role in the grain trade.
Whilst the village sees an influx of visitors in the summer months, the spring and autumn shoulder seasons are a perfect time to explore, with milder weather and fewer crowds. Spring also hosts the Port Isaac Sea Shanty Festival, where you can catch live performances from local sea shanty choirs.
Despite its modest size, Port Isaac boasts some excellent dining options, including Nathan Outlaw's Fish Kitchen, offering fresh, local seafood in an unforgettable setting.”

It is Isaac's turn to take the trash out today. It was 3°degrees F. With the wind chill it felt like -11°degrees F.

Me enamora la delicadeza con la que Gael acaricia la cara de la gente. No es casualidad que aqui roce la barbilla de Isaac, suele hacerlo conmigo, cosa que me encanta.

Poltava was a 54-gun ship of the line of the Russian Navy that was launched on 15 June 1712 from Saint Petersburg. The ship was named after an important for Russia victory over the Swedish Empire in the Battle of Poltava and became the first battleship laid down and built at the St. Petersburg Admiralty. In the 1710s, the ship was sometimes visited and commanded by Peter I, who also took active part in the design and construction of the ship. During her service of 1712–1732, Poltava was part of the Baltic Fleet, and before the end of Great Northern War participated in six marine campaigns (1713–1717 and 1721). She was later used for training Kronstadt crews in the Baltic Sea. Poltava was decommissioned in 1732.

Port Isaac is the fictional fishing village of Portwenn where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed. The Doctor’s house is visible towards the right of the frame next to the large white buildings. This view looks east and so will be one of the dawn locations for my upcoming North Cornwall workshops.
believe it or not I actually draw occasionally, still. Done for Beth Wagner's self-published "Isaac & Lee". I'm still a bit rusty, and I think it shows. Mind you, this was done in two days.

Port Isaac has been an attractive Cornish fishing village since the early fourteenth century. Its narrow, winding streets are lined with old white-washed cottages and traditional granite, slate-fronted Cornish houses, many of which are listed as of architectural or historic importance. It's probably one piece of fame is that it is the Home of the television series Doc Martin.
I have attempted with lighting and editing to highlight the rugged Headland.
