The Irish pub has lasted longer in the 1891 building at 751 N. Clark St. than several predecessors.
After several days of far-below subfreezing weather, we took a walk in the neighborhood. The wind made it feel colder than the 36-degree temperature.
A handy bicycle parked at an Irish pub in my family home town, Co.Offaly.
'.....I walked straight up to the door and looked in.
I saw, standing with his back to me, an enormous policeman.......He was standing behind a little counter in a neat whitewashed day-room; his mouth was open and he was looking in a mirror which hung upon the wall....."It's my teeth",
I heard him say ,abstractedly and half-aloud....He came over ponderously to the inside of the counter and I advanced meekly from the door until we were face to face.
"Is it about a bicycle?", he asked.

Dublin's Dockers pub on Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin has recently reopened after being closed for....15 years.
How times have changed, once the home of Dublin's vast group of dockers who worked opposite on the River Liffey, the area is now filled with a new generation of new silicon dockers, with the likes of HubSpot right beside it.
Went downtown with friends to the Irish Pub , stayed long enough to get a few shots and off we were :) too crowded, and people were “tipsy” at noon . The temp was in the mid 80’s and killer humidity , time to move along :)
In September we went to Caiscais and Lisbon for a break. Caiscais is a beautiful resort town on the outskirts of the great city. Easily accessed by public transport it has a charm all its own with lovely restaurants, pleasant walks and beautiful old building coupled with sea views to make for a perfect holiday destination. Just off the seafront is this small square with the town hall and these two buildings. The one on the right appears to be a church though it does not have too many religious symbols other than the two bells over the door. Beside is the "Residencial Parsi" with the ubiquitous "Irish Pub". When I saw the name O'Neill I gave an inward groan as Irish Pubs are for foreigners as far as I am concerned but the O'Neill is real. Jorge O'Neill, a descendant of the great Owen Roe O'Neill, a great man of Irish history had quite a bit of property here and left a lasting mark.
Wirströms is the only Irsh owned pub in the Old Town.
Wirströms Pub was a kondotori and bakery from the 1800's. In 1998 Wirströms changed direction to serve food and beverages, show sports and to become a meeting place for Stockholmers and visitors.
I really love the textures and colors of this door. You will probably see it several more times with some hdr variations.

Leeks and langoustines, bisque, hazelnut crust.
It was definitely one of the best fish I had, and it was the best meal in my trip in Ireland :) I want to go back again!!!!

Working in the office today so I decided I'd continue my 'what would tourists take a photo of' series.

I've posted a shot of just Claddagh's and the movies by themselves, I figured I should post the one of both of them together! They complement each other nicely, the pub being warm tones and the movie theatre being bright neon!
Enjoy your weeks!
I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Also, please contact me if you would like to use my pictures for any reason, as all rights are reserved. Thanks!
