Do not let the camera focus on the window and droplets instead of the background! It will result in lots of photos that look great in thumbnails and no good once enlarged.

Edit: I still don't like how the focus in this one came out, but some of the later ones with LOTS of droplets in focus actually look pretty good. So I'll amend this to just be careful where you focus. I think I will try in the future focusing even more closely on droplets and see if I can get the bolts reflected in them.

It confused the iphone sensor which created the bands of differing brightness. I toned the brightness down a bit to make the lightning strike on the left a bit easier to see.

I leaned the iPhone against the window with "Gorillacam" app taking time lapse photos and went down to the basement (Tornado Warning!). When I came back I had over 200 pictures, and this was one of them.

My first picture of lightning :)

I made a small video from some of the photos.
