This mornings 6.00 a.m. dog walk. A bit lighter, clear skies, and a step back to February temperatures and the first frost in weeks. The clear skies gave us a nice sunrise though.
That is a solitary Red Kite flying overhead, and Nellie and I are about to get back in the warm as we approach my house on the right.

Another one from my one day trip to DC in April. I had less than an hour to take pictures that day and I still have a bunch I wanted to upload, but didn't. They may be doomed to archives, but not if there is a fence anywhere in any of these shots. HFF!

This is my first real bird shot ever! I am not counting Canada geese because them I will have to move out of the way with a tractor soon. They are everywhere. But this I think is a blue heron. I never saw one close before and all I had with me was an iPhone, but still this is huge. Not the heron...the fact that I managed to take its picture. Another version is under the fold.
