Meadowbrook is an urban, mixed use suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 3,138. It was split off from the larger suburb of Loganlea and named in 1991. The northern and eastern border of the suburb follow Logan River and part of its tributary Slacks Creek. The Gold Coast railway line marks the southern boundary.
The Loganlea Golf Course and Logan campus of Griffith University are located in Meadowbrook. Most of the gold course is within a defined flood zone as is Lake Elleslie at the entrance to the university. Logan Hospital is located in this suburb. There is also an industrial area in the west of Meadowbrook and a large section of housing surround the hospital and adjacent TAFE college. Meadowbrook is home to Riverdale Park, a former grazing property. Source: en.wikipedia.org
I shoot this picture with mu iphone6 plus
The yellow cat , golden light and the stair combine together to form a beautiful picture .
He talked for about a ten minutes. Didn't catch his name.
Yikes, this is impressive. He stopped traffic everywhere because who (for the love of God) doesn't want a picture of this Groot? He was accompanied by an adult-sized, but nonetheless cuddly, Rocket Raccoon.
Walking through crowds on stilts. In a mask that reduces your field of vision. Yikes. I think of all of the times during NYCC (and other events) where I was walking as part of the flow of traffic and was almost clocked by the person in front of me when they decided to just throw themselves into reverse gear without bothering to turn their heads first.
This photo should clear up any misunderstandings you might have about main engines of modern comics fandom. A couple of years ago, Groot and the rest of the Guardians couldn't even have been called D-list heroes. To do so would have implied that the people compiling such a list would have heard of them.
But I saw lots of "Guardians" cosplayers. Yup, it's because of the movie. That isn't the only reason why a character becomes a popular and frequent sight on a con floor, but it points to how important the movies are to the comics business. If the tail sometimes wags the dog in the comics business, it's easy to see why.
Photo notes: no way, no how would I ever say that a phone is a good replacement for a "real" camera. But wow, a great phone like the iPhone 6 Plus makes a decent "backup camera." It works great in "Peter Parker Mode." You know, where you just make sure it's aimed vaguely at the center of the action and then just lock the shutter button down and hope you get something. That's how I got this shot. It's fine, so long as you don't zoom all the way in.
I think I used the iPhone here because it was almost the very end of the show and my brain was almost at the very end of its battery cycle. I could have shot with the E-M1 in full-auto burst mode but somehow, I felt like a casual phone photographer at that point...not like a skillful operator of a precision image-capture instrument.
