A large, faded thirty year old C-print I made that used to hang in my parents condo.

The urban landscape of this city is adorned by sculptural works, generally commemorative monuments dedicated to characters of special relevance at first, and more purely artistic since the end of the 20th century. The work presents a woman sitting with a child on one of her thighs. The figure, which measures almost eight feet and weighs 800 kilograms, has a dark gray color and reveals the rounded and obese forms characteristic of the Colombian sculptor, the author of the same.

My third attempt at a photo a day challenge. The first two were horrific failures. Maybe starting on January 1st will make a difference for me this time.

Probably not.

We had some trees removed from our property last week. This is all that's left of one that I really didn't want to lose. It was rotting in the middle and it was close to the house... but I really loved it.

In 1981 the people of Caltojar showed everyone who wanted their particular tribute to Pablo Ruiz Picasso in the centenary of his birth. They did not know then that the Malaga-born painter had Sorian origins, specifically from La Póbeda, Barriomartín and Arguijo, since Rafael Inglada had not yet published his research on the universal painter, who would publish in 1995 "Picasso before the blue".

Mayor Ángel Molina and his secretary, Ángel Nuño, who along with the teacher, children and some adults, with a lot of interest and work, gave the people some paintings, made along the lines that marked a projector. No traveler who runs along the road will be indifferent to this display of blue, cubism, color in general. Seeing there, on the walls, the ladies of Avignon, the Harlequin, the portrait made by Antonio Machado of Malaga, or on a panel the Guernika, is surprising.

Thanks to the restoration carried out in 2014, we can now enjoy more than 50 reproductions of Pablo Picasso's works in all his splendor.
