In four weeks time we will be in the air on our way to France to begin our new adventure. We will be doing an 8 day bus tour of France, flying to London, hiring a car and driving around the UK taking in the wonderful sights of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This is the view Carl Larsson had from his home and this is the lake where he took his family in the rowingboat to the small island where they were swimming and had thier partys ! A fantastic place indeed and a hint of where he got inspiration from in many of his paintings !

This tiny 8mm long Weevil,popped its handsome features up whilst I was waiting for some birds to appear.At this time of year I always carry a macro lens with me...you never know what might turn up in the surrounding undergrowth.On this occasion this very handsome brightly adorned Weevil said ..."Hello"
Anyone who does macro knows, with the depth of field being almost non existent at this close range, getting focus on a fast moving critter is a real challenge...especially when they're playing hide an seek. Hand holding your gear, and tracking can be nigh on impossible...but...it's good fun trying.

Here is my entry for this month. This one we planned it with my wife and we got the dress, the location and the baloons. It took us a while to get the pose right but it was quite cool to do it.

This is the outside wall of a souvenir shop in Corpus Christi, TX, processed a bit in GIMP, a free photo editing tool. The effect is called "Goat - exercise", and is simply an example of how to write a filter script for GIMP. This example applies a linear color inversion effect. Then I just increased the contrast a bit.

This is our favourite NNR! We love it here because you've got landscapes as well as the birdies! And there're four hides near the car to sit in! We've always had good photographs from here!
while reflecting on life, some painful times came to the fore and the tears started to fall like the petals of this dying rose...falling, falling but wait...... in the background I heard the soft music of sweet memories which eventually rescued me.....

The Flagship Niagara docked at Port Detroit during US Navy Week.
Flagship of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Flagship Niagara is also a major museum “exhibit” when in homeport. The Niagara in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a reproduction of the relief flagship of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry in a major naval battle of the War of 1812. On September 10, 1813, nine small ships – six of them, including Niagara, constructed in Erie – defeated a British squadron of six vessels in the Battle of Lake Erie. A pivotal event in the War of 1812, it secured the Northwest Territory, opened supply lines and lifted the nation’s morale.
The Flagship Niagara is a two-masted, square-rigged sailing vessel. In 1813 she had a crew of 155 men who manned her sails, 18 carronades and 2 long guns. Today’s Niagara sails with a crew of 40 (16 professional, 24 volunteer), and carries two 32-pounder carronades. Original 1813 timbers, which were recovered from the 1913 and 1933 reconstructions, are incorporated into her construction.

In my dreams I see a figure, and that figure looks like you. But something stops me seeing. I'm blinded by the light and I cannot see the truth.
