I stood by a fence to take this shot, using one of the posts as my tripod. It was a very remote area so there was little traffic, only 3 vehicles in the time it took to compose and capture the image.
When it comes to working on a scene, I prefer it when there are few distractions. It is not always obvious what initially drew my attention, but working a subject eventually reveals what was there all along.
In this case the rolling hills and that terrific red in the barn. The foreground bushes frame the structure and the space between them invites the eyes to move in closer.

Today I got a paper in the mail from the cardigan museum. I'm invited for the jobinterview! It'll be later this week...
To stimulate my luck I've been wearing a cardigan to work everyday now. And today even two. My boss noticed. She said I looked very smart in my cardigans. I blushed...
As I'm a bit nervous for the jobinterview (because I really want the job), I'm testing which of my cardigans (I own around 12) are the smartest, styliest, prettiest and most comfortable.
I still don't know what to wear to the interview as I don't know how they'll judge me. I guess I need lots of advise.
What do you think of this combination?

At the beginning of Autumn, this beautiful adult female Kingfisher began visiting a tiny pond near my home.
The pond holds no fish but she became expert at catching dragonfly larvae.
On this day, I invited Bob Eade to join me and we didn't have to wait long before she put in an appearance. We both photographed her amongst the hazel catkins and watched her catch several larvae. After Bob's day, her visits became less frequent and when she did come in she had mud on her beak.
She had clearly found a mate and was busy excavating a nest site.
I haven't seen her for several days so it looks like it will be some time before I photograph her again. Hopefully, she will be successful in raising the next generation of this iconic bird.

Just to reassure that I've not been completely idle of late, but just focussing on street photography as a different challenge! As a result I'm part of a street photography exhibition with 3 fellow photographers, Becky Frances, Joe O'Malley and Kevin Newman. We'll each be displaying 10 prints and for those of you who kindly visited my last exhibition, it's at the same venue, until mid-Jan 2018, but it would be great to see you at the launch, all welcome!
