Occasionally I have bouts of needing to… purge my inventory and rez things out to see what they are.

And more often than not, I end up pretty much keeping everything :x I’m a hoarder. I really am.

So I decided to go and sorta ‘finish’ decorating a part (yes just a part cause I handle small spaces better) of my living skybox - it’s not done, I don’t think homes can ever be ‘done’…

No wind light, nothing too edited because I just wanted to show you guys a small glimpse of my hoards in SL. I love how creative so many of these items are… it’s always magical to see things put together and arranged, and you sit there and realise… gee everything here is made by random people from all over the world <3

Some times you just need to go through and organize your lingerie

A new year is usually a good time to take stock of what you have, and consider where you want to go.

2025 did not see me publish many models. Most of what I have in progress has stayed that way because of the rest of life. Often, it's easy for me to forget that this is a hobby.

It's also a good time to reorganize. This photo shows all of my "older" (pre-2019 or pre BC&G 13) work, most of which have not been pulled from storage in a long time. I've also decided it may be a good idea to retire a small handful of newer items.

It's kind of a hard decision to make, because I'm no less proud of the work, but as the collection grows in number and sharpens focus in fewer directions, it's no longer practical for me to bring everything to shows or displays. Models get left in boxes the entire time - I can't use everything every time.

Part of this is the result of that sharpened focus. The farther I get into the hobby, the longer it can often take to produce new work, because I continue to raise my own standards. Development times and build times increase, and the result is the looming thought that I probably can't "do everything."

There is a positive side: the sharpened focus.

More recently, the models constructed have been built with greater purpose and contribute to a more unified goal (or set of goals) in a greater way. I wish I could do everything, or at least move faster through it, but practical limitations due to this only being a hobby, and sometimes burnout, are very real.

All of this to say - I'm certainly still enjoying this hobby. It comes in waves like everything else, but it's comforting to know that it'll always be there for me to return to during the low periods. There's still a lot I'd like to do. Who knows, maybe I'll even move track off the floor some day.

Wishing you a happy 2026. Thanks for reading.

Castle De Haar is located near Haarzuilens, in the province of Utrecht in the Netherlands. The current buildings, all built upon the original castle, date from 1892 and are the work of Dutch architect P.J.H. Cuypers, in a Neo-Gothic restoration project funded by the Rothschild family.

The oldest historical record of a building at the location of the current castle dates to 1391. In that year, the family De Haar received the castle and the surrounding lands as fiefdom from Hendrik van Woerden. The castle remained in the ownership of the De Haar family until 1440, when the last male heir died childless. The castle then passed to the Van Zuylen family. In 1482, the castle was burned down and the walls were torn down, except for the parts that did not have a military function. These parts probably were incorporated into the castle when it was rebuilt during the early 16th century. The castle is mentioned in an inventory of the possessions of Steven van Zuylen from 1506, and again in a list of fiefdoms in the province Utrecht from 1536. The oldest image of the castle dates to 1554 and shows that the castle had been largely rebuilt by then. After 1641, when Johan van Zuylen van der Haar died childless, the castle seems to have gradually fallen into ruins. The castle escaped from total destruction by the French during the Rampjaar 1672. In 1890, De Haar was inherited by Etienne Gustave Frédéric Baron van Zuylen van Nyevelt van de Haar, who was married to Baroness Hélène de Rothschild. They contracted architect Pierre Cuypers in 1892 to rebuild the ruinous castle, which took 15 years.

Miami is a seaport city at the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Florida and its Atlantic coast. As the seat of Miami-Dade County, the municipality is the principal, central, and the most populous city of the Miami metropolitan area and part of the second-most populous metropolis in the southeastern United States.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Miami's metro area is the eighth-most populous and fourth-largest urban area in the U.S., with a population of around 5.5 million.

Miami is a major center, and a leader in finance, commerce, culture, media, entertainment, the arts, and international trade. In 2012, Miami was classified as an Alpha−World City in the World Cities Study Group's inventory. In 2010, Miami ranked seventh in the United States in terms of finance, commerce, culture, entertainment, fashion, education, and other sectors. It ranked 33rd among global cities. In 2008, Forbes magazine ranked Miami "America's Cleanest City", for its year-round good air quality, vast green spaces, clean drinking water, clean streets, and citywide recycling programs.

According to a 2009 UBS study of 73 world cities, Miami was ranked as the richest city in the United States, and the world's fifth-richest city in terms of purchasing power. Miami is nicknamed the "Capital of Latin America" and is the largest city with a Cuban-American plurality.

Miami has the third tallest skyline in the U.S. with over 300 high-rises. Downtown Miami is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, and many large national and international companies. The Civic Center is a major center for hospitals, research institutes, medical centers, and biotechnology industries.

For more than two decades, the Port of Miami, known as the "Cruise Capital of the World", has been the number one cruise passenger port in the world. It accommodates some of the world's largest cruise ships and operations and is the busiest port in both passenger traffic and cruise lines.

Metropolitan Miami is the major tourism hub in the American South, number two in the U.S. after New York City and number 13 in the world, including the popular destination of Miami Beach.

I just love the idea here, and although the colours in my photo aren't anything like the original in the gallery, I still like my interpretation of it with the two eyes created by the reflection of the light behind me. And do you see the smile on the face that I see in my imagination?

"Inventory contains all the things found in Noomi Ljungdell‘s childhood home. Ljungdell has photographed and catalogued every piece of furniture, bolt or half-empty milk carton in the living quarters, as well as the people and all the spaces including skirting boards. The body of work is a still image of the possessions and utilities of a retired middle class couple."

My local Kmart will be shrinking starting in July. The store is one of supposedly 60 test stores to try a new strategy to increase sales by putting the entire store on sale.

Marshalls and other unannounced tenant(s) that will make for a 45,000 sq ft project. Interesting thing here is that the Kmart store will still be around 73,000 Sq ft rather than the 59,000 that would of been half the store. In other words, the store will still technically occupy more than half of the building.

The project is expected to be complete in Q2 next year. Hopefully this project will not turn around and cause this store to close completely as the Anderson, SC store did. Whatever happens, I'll be sure to send picture updates when I can.

The Falcon is a quite small aircraft compared to other jets, but it is still one of the largest ones in my inventory due to the large number of older WWII planes.

This is just an inventory capture. Actually, I might use it too for an upcoming blog I'm planning to post. And while you're looking and possibly reading I would like to take the opportunity to let you know that if you own your home, you most likely have insurance and that you can include your camera gear with no extra cost. I think even if you are renting, it's good to have renter's insurance and you can include your gear. All you have to do is call your insurance agent and they might ask for the exact model, serial numbers and current price after tax so be ready. Now, if you use it for business that I believe is different and you might as well insure your gear because you'll never know what could happen. The rider for your home insurance I think only covers it if the camera gets damaged or stolen from your home but anything that happens outside your home is not covered I believe (I could be wrong). I hope that helps.

I have been meaning to get this map/inventory done for a few weeks but have got it done today. I feel a bit of a headache coming on!

Construction, Week 58

Back in present time, fortunately or unfortunately, things are starting to ramp up at the site of the dual Krogers... inside the existing store, one is greeted by this sign, the likes of which are normally reserved for store closures in the Delta Division :(
