An extremely valuable inventory of pre-Reformation art has been preserved in St. Sebald.
The roof and vault were badly damaged in the Second World War and were restored. The very important late Gothic furnishings were largely preserved through storage.
DE:

It is rare that this bridge in Cliff Gilker Park has been photographed from this side. When looking at my own inventory of shots, I too have rarely captured it from this view. Perhaps it is because the path that leads to this bridge does so from the other side. Tourists then cross it and follow down the path and along the stream.
Regardless, on this side the water is seen once again rushing due to the plethora of rain we have experienced. The bridge lies in the shade of the trees while the water that leads down the hill, does so in the light of the sun. And, the moss shines brilliant, as if plugged in to natures outlet.
It's always a wonderful surprise on Inventory day to find the storeroom being run by kittens!

A new year is usually a good time to take stock of what you have, and consider where you want to go.
2025 did not see me publish many models. Most of what I have in progress has stayed that way because of the rest of life. Often, it's easy for me to forget that this is a hobby.
It's also a good time to reorganize. This photo shows all of my "older" (pre-2019 or pre BC&G 13) work, most of which have not been pulled from storage in a long time. I've also decided it may be a good idea to retire a small handful of newer items.
It's kind of a hard decision to make, because I'm no less proud of the work, but as the collection grows in number and sharpens focus in fewer directions, it's no longer practical for me to bring everything to shows or displays. Models get left in boxes the entire time - I can't use everything every time.
Part of this is the result of that sharpened focus. The farther I get into the hobby, the longer it can often take to produce new work, because I continue to raise my own standards. Development times and build times increase, and the result is the looming thought that I probably can't "do everything."
There is a positive side: the sharpened focus.
More recently, the models constructed have been built with greater purpose and contribute to a more unified goal (or set of goals) in a greater way. I wish I could do everything, or at least move faster through it, but practical limitations due to this only being a hobby, and sometimes burnout, are very real.
All of this to say - I'm certainly still enjoying this hobby. It comes in waves like everything else, but it's comforting to know that it'll always be there for me to return to during the low periods. There's still a lot I'd like to do. Who knows, maybe I'll even move track off the floor some day.
Wishing you a happy 2026. Thanks for reading.
Glenn

Thanks very much to Marta for interviewing me for her wonderful new blog.
Marta not only got me to examine what I love about photography, but also to name my inspirations. The named certainly don't represent a complete list, as so many of you here on flickr remain my largest inspirations day to day.
Yes. Really.
I hope I am not the only one who is happy that summer is coming to an end. This summer was exceptionally HOT where I live. I am not a fan of the heat. I also think I can speak for just about anyone when I say, we are close to another season and year ending. I am super excited for autumn and all that is autumn in Second Life. It is not only my favorite season in RL but here also. Sweaters and jeans, boots and leggings and all the autumn colors that come with it.
This land was a piece i have been working on for the last week or so. I decorate when I need to just let go of RL and the things that are bothering me.
I went to the L2 Studio sim for a bit of inspiration when I wanted to compliment Miss Lindini Lane on her choices of Decor. Simply adore her shabby chic style. I happened to come upon this build; The Writers Shed. I have been to this sim many times and I had never seen it. So happy I had because it was so lovely to decorate. Not only that, Miss Lane was so gracious, she offered it to me as a gift ♥ So thank you again for your generous gift!
You might be able to tell, the inside is packed full of amazing decor. While this home is small, it is fabulous to decorate for any person who loves decor as much as me.
There are a few items I would like to spotlight. TBF- The Black Forest is in this round of Cosmopolitan with an amazing set. I especially like the Kerosene Lamp, it comes with different options as well as being able to carry it with a bento pose. Check out this item and the others he has just inside the entrance this round starting Monday September the 7th.
There also may be a few items listed that you can't see. This is because a lot of them might be in the garden shed or just inside the home. I will try to sift them out before I post, just know I did the best I can ♥
A full inventory of items is listed below, enjoy! ♥

This prominent vantage point and strategic site was quickly recognised by the Normans, who built a huge timber fortress here by 1100 AD. Originally built by Robert de Toeni, (later known as Robert of Stafford),
in the Norman period, Stafford Castle has dominated the local skyline for over 900 years.
In the years shortly after the Norman invasion of 1066, William the Conqueror is believed to have ordered defences to be built against a still hostile and rebellious native community. The fortunes of the castle and its owners, the Stafford family, fluctuated greatly.
An impressive example of the motte and bailey system, Stafford Castle enjoyed mixed fortunes throughout the medieval period. In the 14th century Ralph, a founder member of the Order of the Garter, became the1st Earl of Stafford. He ordered the building of a stone keep on top of the motte in 1347 and the following year was granted a licence to crenellate and so constructed the battlements.
In 1444 Humphrey Stafford was created Duke of Buckingham and the castle entered its heyday. By the early 17th century however the condition of the castle had deteriorated and during the English Civil War the Parliamentary Committee in Stafford ordered it to be demolished.
By the early 17th century, the castle's fortunes waned. During the early part of the Civil War it was defended by the Gallant Lady Isabel but was eventually abandoned and demolished. Extensively rebuilt in the Gothic Revival Style in 1813, the castle fell into ruin through this century. Rebuilt by the Jerningham family in the early 19th Century using the same foundations the keep was again a magnificent four storey structure. However, given over to caretakers and then abandoned again in the 1950s it became derelict once more.
Now after recent restoration work and a programme of archaeological investigation Stafford Castle is considered one of the best surviving examples of Norman earthworks in the country. A programme of archaeological excavations has gradually revealed many of its secrets. Visitors can follow an informative trail of interpretation panels to discover the castle's history. Today, the remains of the castle, together with the surrounding grounds, give visitors a fascinating insight to the 900 year history of this important site.
An inventory taken in 1537 shows how herbs were an important part of daily life at Stafford Castle. They were widely used for their medicinal, aromatic and edible properties. From this detailed inventory, a herb garden was planted in the castle grounds. Great faith was placed in the use of herbs and they still have an important role to play today. This garden has been designed with sixteen beds, each containing herbs related to specific illnesses. As well as being extremely enjoyable to walk around, the herb garden provides a unique insight into living history.

Inventory tells the story of a superhero who commits suicide in barcelona in 1992. it's a romantic tale of an antihero who lost all faith in living. When I wrote the story I sensed a smell of smoke, I felt the atmosphere was stuffy and I saw people living a sad life. Inventory is an open story. A starting point. A small portion of cosmos locked in a suitcase.

This should never have worked. I first loaded the 8x10 sheet film in the holder backwards-base side out/emulsion side in. I have never done that before. Exposed film. Realized film was backwards. Put it in developer tray anyway. Then for reasons I could not explain I turned on the light. Left it on for about 10 seconds before I realized that was not recommended for a sheet of film in a tray of developer. Turned light off. Finished developing film anyway.
Film came out.
A little solarized but it's quite a printable neg.
I have no explanation.
I think the photo-gods like me.

The photo shows a portion of the caterpillar inventory in a temporary container while I was doing maintenance work on their habitat. At this size (most are near mature size), the caterpillars eat a large amount of milkweed and produce a large amount of waste, so daily cleaning of their habitat, and replenishing their milkweed plants, is required.
