This is a Monk Parakeet we saw in Barcelona. We saw a few in Athens as well.
Coming from the north we had not seen them before and we loved them.
But they seem to be a menace in the countries they settle in. It is considered an invasive species 🤔

Der Bau der Uppatasanti-Pagode begann am 12. Die Pagode ist 30 cm kürzer als die Shwedagon-Pagode .
"Uppātasanti" bedeutet grob "Schutz vor Unglück". Es ist der Name eines Sūtra , der im frühen 16. Jahrhundert von einem Mönch hergestellt wurde. Es ist in Krisenzeiten zu rezitieren, insbesondere angesichts der ausländischen Invasion.
Uppātasanti Pagoda ; also called the "Peace Pagoda is a prominent landmark in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar. The pagoda houses a Buddha tooth relic from China. It is nearly a same-sized replica of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and stands 99 metres (325 ft) tall.

While exploring Windsor, Ontario’s Malden Park I came across clusters of this purple wildflower. A little research has me believing that this is ‘hesperis matronalis’ more commonly referred to as ‘Dames’ Rocket’. This plant is part of the mustard family and is considered to be an invasive plant species. But on this particular morning the flower in the sunlight was quite pretty.

This Gray-headed Swamphen was seen at Lakodahatchee Wetlands, in southeast Florida. Later, another one was seen at Celery Fields, in central western Florida. This indicates that the invasive alien species, Gray-headed Swamphens, have already expanded their range to at least the southern half of Florida.
Attempts to control their population by removing over 3000 swamphens had little effect on their apparent overall range and population size. They seem to be there to stay.
They are larger and much more aggressive than the native species.
I just liked the contrast between the 1066 sculpture and the enclosed space thingy in the background ... plus the light and clouds were pretty nice :))
I thought I was seeing a Purple Gallinule on steroids, but the color was slightly off and the red forehead shield was more like the less colorful Common Gallinule. A park volunteer identified it as yet another Florida invasive species, the Gray-headed Swamp Hen (from Asia).
According to the Cornell Lab ("All About Birds"), this large, aggressive rail "escaped" captivity and has expanded its range beyond the south of Florida. In 2006-2008, 3187 swamp hens were culled by various Florida agencies, but it had no apparent effect on the population.
I photographed swamp hens in two locations, this one at Celery Fields, another at Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Florida.
