This is a little islet that is in the middle of the lake. Most of the time the geese, ducks, turtles and some herons nest here. It's their little peaceful paradise, where nobody disturbs them. The small trees with the reddish seed tufts are Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina), no poisonous. (Best in large)🔎
Thank you very much for your kind comments and visit, much appreciated! 💕
Yesterday morning after a long time I was able to photograph some foggy moods again, like here on the fog line not far from home.
Gestern Morgen konnte ich nach langer Zeit wieder einige Nebelstimmungen fotografieren, wie hier an der Nebelgrenze nicht weit von zu Hause.

Last image through the printer destined to Green River, Utah for my exhibition FOOTPRINTS OF WATER at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum. The show will be up starting January 10, 2022 and run through June 10, 2022. I will be displaying selections of poetry to be read and/or listened to via a QR code. Prints, posters, greeting cards, and other items will be available in the gift shop. An in-person opening may be held at a later date depending on the pandemic situation and/or I may put together a virtual tour.
Natures architecture.
Out of my confort zone, normally i shoot seascapes.
This is a tree in my lokal wood. There are not many woods in my region. So if there is a tree like this it is very remarkable.
The IR foliage added a surreal mood and contrast.

The Mediterranean barely stirring on a summer morning...it's not always about the big sunrise view...so much is right at our feet!
Stop...listen...look.
I ran out of landscapes one morning (on account of being in the same place many times) so I went for the very intimate approach...bokeh balls in the golden morning sunlight look quite nice.
Can you hear the sound those waves make?
On a long (8.5 hours) hike to the Subway in Zion National Park / Utah / USA we passed yesterday these magnificent cascade. For me they were because of the autumnal coloring of deciduous trees, the unique highlight of this tour.

I feel like a lot of color today. The vineyards of the Ahr Valley are particularly suitable for this, as here a week ago near Ehlingen, a district of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
Mir ist heute nach viel Farbe zumute. Dazu eignen sich die Weinberge des Ahrtals besonders, wie hier vor einer Woche bei Ehlingen, ein Ortsteil von Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

Several years ago in the American Southwest in search of his "secrets".
In order to get a better overview of these so-called "brain rocks", I climbed onto an adjacent rocky mountain (it's name is "Teepee Dome"). From there you also have a perfect view towards Coyote Buttes North (The Wave).
I'd had my eye on an image from this spot from visiting the area in Northumberland for a number of years but conditions had never been right while there. It's a steep run-off from beach into tidal river at low tide, the retreating water leaving these wonderful patterns. I'd envisaged some golden side lighting picking out the pattern but preferred this pre-dawn version with it's rather silvery sheen and some warm reflected light for contrast. The sides are deceiving and were pretty steep so a foothold wasn't easy and it needed a focus stack as it fell away quite quickly.
