Lamented Fens by LRRiven.

A place that borders on the edge of madness. Here the seductive wail of the siren’s song lures the unwary into the cool grasp of the treacherous fens. Where the ground is thick with fog and dark moss-covered trees loom overhead menacingly. You see movement in the shadows from the corner of your eye. As you turn to validate what you saw, it vanishes, leaving behind doubt. Was it only the fog? Or perhaps the sway of the moss in the soft breeze? The moss gets thicker and the fog swirls hypnotically the longer one lingers here. Ghosts of your past, future, and everything intertwined haunt you. Is this real? Had the path truly been so dark? What would happen if you reached the light? Listen to the whispers in the shadows, to the buzz of the dragonflies, and unravel your destined path. Choices -will- be made. But do you keep to the safe path; or wander off into the halls of insanity? Welcome to the Lamented Fens, a swampland inhabited by mysterious piscine creatures. A story must be told; will it be you who survives to tell it?

It's a good thing to turn your mind upside down now and then, like an hour-glass, to let the particles run the other way.

This picture was taken at the beautiful "Angel's Palms" , a sim by a fellow flickr photographer April Blanc. Inspired by the west coast and their beaches, you'll find there many chills spots in the sand, a colorful sea side city, a rooftop bar and a pool to hang at. From time to time Djs will spin in the open air club right next to the beach ! It's definitely worth a visit if you like to mix summer vibes and urban sights !

3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine

within your house;

your children will be like olive shoots

around your table.

The past embraces the future

The future embraces the past

They are both intertwined

Linked in all eternity

The chapel of Agia Paraskevi on the top of a hill in the village of Petroporos offers a view of the landscape from old elementary school reading books. It is surrounded on one side by an inexplicable geological phenomenon of a huge crater intertwined with folkloric legends that are kept alive to this day.

On the other side is the very important for the region archaeological site of ancient Pelinna with massive walls and other scattered findings.

The proximity to livestock areas and the unobstructed view of the sunset provide opportunities for powerful experiences for the photographer.

While looking through the rough edits of my better Iceland images, I came across a few images from our amazing photo flight over the river deltas near Skaftafell that I cropped to a square format, which made me think of combining them into a triptych. However, not all images provide the right balance for such an arrangement, and so I was searching for some promising candidates. I then found these three images that fit very well together, as in the two images on the sides the rivers run almost diagonally through the frame, whereas in the one in the center they run straight up. In addition to the beautifully balanced flow directions, all of these images are different in their colors and patterns, showing the amazing beauty that nature can create by just letting some glacial water flow into the sea. I hope you like it!

Whether you like it or not... we're all connected... You know someone I know... I know someone you know... And those people we know... probably know each other!

After all... we're all just humans living in the same small world...........

Another photo developed from my 30 year old frozen Ilford film stock. Definitely enjoying the graininess of this old B&W film.

View On Black

This staircase, designed by Guiseppe Momo in 1932, is an architectural highlight in the Vatican. Because of the two intertwined spiral ramps, visitors going up do not encounter those coming down. The archetype is the Bramante Staircase, which is also located in the museum complex. However, this staircase can be visited only as part of a special tour. This is a view from below.

Artist: Manolo Mesa

Manolo Mesa is a Spanish artist living and working in the port city of El Puerto de Santa Maria. His paintings are a metaphor for life, encounter, and loneliness. An iconography of the absurdity of existence which goes beyond the physical. Through his work, he seeks to intertwine the past with the present. A street-art “poet”, curious about people and the world, Manolo believes that one's attitude and resilience create one's identity. “About the Community” was commissioned in 2019 by the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network with support of PNC. The mural features members of the adjacent neighborhood, showcasing Erie’s diversity and unity. (Mural Arts of Erie County)

I knew I wanted to process these amazing driftwood tree roots in B&W and now that I look at them, I'm even more enamoured as I see the intriguing artistic and acrobatic grace of interpretive dancers (hence the title).

Nature's patterns sometimes reflect two intertwined features: fundamental physical laws and environmental influences. Where one must examine how these strands are woven together in our minds.

Just a bit of Fisheye fun on this one!

Many thanks for your cool comments here, my good flickr friends !!!
