There is a very intersting, little known symbol that many who visit and pause at this spectacular tribute are not aware of...there is an extra hand raised toward the flag pole that is not part of any of the Marines honored here...it is said to represent "The Hand of God" on that flag pole being so courageously lifted skyward...
Quartzsite is a town in La Paz County, Arizona, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population was 3,677.
Interstate 10 runs directly through Quartzsite which is at the intersection of U.S. Route 95 and Arizona State Route 95 with I-10.
Where Quartzsite is now located, was from 1863 to the 1880s the site of a waterhole and later a stage station, called Tyson's Wells, along the La Paz - Wikenburg Road on Tyson Wash, in what was then Yuma County, in the newly created Arizona Territory. It was about 20 miles from the Colorado River steamboat landing of La Paz and 25 miles from the landing of Erhenburg from 1866. The next stop was 25 miles to the east at Desert Station.
Quartzsite is a popular recreational vehicle camping area for winter visitors with tourism being the major contributor to Quartzsite's economy. Nine major gem and mineral shows, and 15 general swap meet shows are very popular tourist attractions, attracting about 1.5 million people annually, mostly during January and February.

Interst-Elephant’s intergalactic design is full of all sorts of things to excite the imagination including rockets, Martians, asteroids, the planets of our solar system and even an astronaut on a spacewalk. Artists Aimee and Josh Williams have painted some of the most famous star constellations across each side of this out-of-this-world sculpture
All 58 elephants of the Herd of Sheffield lined up in the car park at Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield on Sunday 16th September 2016 as part of the Farewell Weekend. After this the elephants were auctioned off in aid of the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity. This is Interst-Elephant by Aimee and Josh Williams and it was previously on display in Barker's Pool.
Lava fields are very intersting as their color variation depends on age and minerals. The first growth is moss than later grass. The roots of the moss will start to break down the surface of the lava (whatever mixture it is) and grass will penetrate deeper. Both are important to create fertile soil. Then little herbs will start to grow....It's a beautiful process.
An intersting creature to part the way through thr crowds. The feet of the actor were really intricate, with hair and claws and everything!
Recently I read an intersting journal article by Marin-Viadel and Roldan (2013) in proceedings from the 1st Conference on Arts-Based and Artistic Research, Barcelona, Spain, edited by Hernandez-Hernandez and Fendler (2013) which essentially took issue with how the Arts-based Research community is apathetic is fighting their corner. Furthermore it laid out a very intelligent way that (using the established norm of APA citation) a more creative Arts-Based approach could be found to both disrupt the pre-exisitng metanarrative, and at the same time remain within the framework for facilitation and classification of established academic discourse. Essentially what they did was to to represent all the 'established' elements of an APA 'standard' essay with visual signs and signifiers, therefore rendering an entirely visual essay. Yet one that still 'technically' adheres to the APA format.. GENIUS! So here is my take on that. I have to present a poster at the QUB Doctoral Research Centre's 'Poster Fair' on October 16th, and rather than simply following all the other students who will present 'traditional' posters - because this obviously fits with their research style and paradigm; I will be unveiling an entirely Arts-Based piece which not only maintains the integrity of ABER, but also is self-referential (postmodern) and cyclical (PAR), and actually utilised my chosen cultural artefact (e-ma) upon which my research is based.
