I created my own page of the book in Microsoft Word so that I could get the quote on a single line. Then I placed the page in a book and weighted it down with the ring and something else. From here it was just getting the depth of field correct, with a good composition and lighting.

Strobist Info: Lit with a single flash from camera left with a honeycomb attached. This allowed for the heavy shadows seen here, which adds bit of drama.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket with NASA’s IMAP (Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe), the agency’s Carruthers Geocorona Observatory, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Follow On–Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1) spacecraft atop stands vertical at Launch Complex 39A as the sun sets on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The missions will each focus on different effects of the solar wind — the continuous stream of particles emitted by the Sun — and space weather — the changing conditions in space driven by the Sun — from their origins at the Sun to their farthest reaches billions of miles away at the edge of our solar system. The Rangers are coming to life! Gentle suggestions of weathering done by brushing white tints into each panel, rather than pastels which suit a larger scale than this.

INTERSTELLAR / Avant-Première Gaumont Paris Marignan avec Christopher Nolan - 30 octobre 2014

This image captures the rare interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, photographed on 19 December 2025 from southern skies as it approached its closest passage to Earth. Unlike ordinary comets bound to the Sun, 3I/ATLAS follows a hyperbolic trajectory, indicating an origin outside our solar system.

The comet’s distinctive green coma, formed by the fluorescence of diatomic carbon (C₂) in sunlight, stands out against a background of distant stars and galaxies. Subtle hints of diffuse tail structures are visible, shaped by solar wind interaction as the comet accelerated through the inner solar system.

The final image integrates 24 × 120-second exposures, revealing both the faint inner coma and the surrounding star field. It captures a brief moment in the passage of a transient object that entered the solar system from interstellar space before returning to the depths between the stars.

Nature continually speaks to us...sharing something of importance!

His first two films (MARGIN CALL and ALL IS LOST) have been outstanding and so we have high hopes for writer/director J.C. Chandor’s latest. The early buzz on the film is solid with A MOST VIOLENT YEAR boasting a brilliant cast led by INTERSTELLAR’s Jessica Chastain and STAR WARS: EP...
