Washington, D.C.

January 21, 2017

Foto: Mohamed Badarne, CC-BY-SA-4.0

Washington DC, January 19, 2019. Hundreds of thousands gathered here today for the third annual massive DC rally and march opposing Trumpism and supporting intersectional feminism. There were similar gatherings staged in other cities and towns nationwide.

The DC event was restricted to the downtown streets near Freedom Plaza and The Trump International Hotel. Intersections leading to the march were blocked with DC National Guard and DC Police vehicles. The traditional sites of protest including the White House, US Capitol and the National Mall were off-limits.

A small group of anti-abortion/anti-feminist protesters were corralled by DC Police on Pennsylvania Avenue across the street from Trump's Hotel. The Women's Marchers voiced their disapproval loudly as they passed by. The young women with the megaphone offered to perform free abortions on "anyone, right here and now".
