Even in the English countryside nature tries to reclaim older structures and forms. This viaduct on the Oxford to Birmingham line is built of engineering bricks, but the graceful form of arches has been interrupted by saplings and ivy as they try to reclaim their own space.

Un interruptor lleno de manchas oscuras y pegajosas.(Las fotos que estan en este álbum son intencionadas, no existen cuerpos ni casa abandonada)

What makes this picture interesting is that the Titmouse is in focus and the branch isn't. The D300 AF system tracked the bird and held focus lock-on to its head, rather than shifting focus to the closer object. Most other AF systems will get the offending twig crisp. While this photo is not a keeper in any case, it does clearly demonstrate why I just ran up the credit card for yet another body. Fortunately, this is a feature that will be very useful for tracking little subjects amid their messy surroundings (Titmouse interrupted_0038 4x6).
