We interrupt this stroll through the country for this TOTALLY AWESOME moment!!!
So, I was out feeding "the kids" (birds, chipmunks, etc.) and this little guy was out. He seemed pretty receptive to me, and so, I tried to hand feed him again. Wow! He totally caught me off guard! Not only did he fairly quickly come over to my hand to eat, but when he was standing next to my hand and taking the seeds and nuts, all of a sudden, he jumped up into my hand!!!!!! I could NOT believe it! He plopped his little chippie butt right in the middle of the food and sat there, stuffing his face! It was AWESOME!
Now, I know I've mentioned before that my mother is always telling me, "One of these days, that thing is going to bite you and give you rabies!" Well, he shoved a bunch of seeds and a few almonds in his mouth, and then......he chomped down on my pinky finger!!!!! LOL! I was like, "HEY!" But he was just trying to figure out what was food and what wasn't. Thankfully, he decided I wasn't food. And, as you can see in the pictures, he didn't break the skin at all. But that was almost a "You'll shoot your eye out!" moment. LOL!
He ran off, and came RIGHT back, jumped up into my hand again, and stuffed his face. He continued to do this for about a half an hour!!! Maybe it was 20 minutes. I was in HEAVEN!!! I could NOT believe it!
But I didn't have my camera with me! As he ran off, on one of his trips to the neighbor's yard to drop off his stash, I RAN into the house, grabbed my camera (thank goodness it had the right lens on it!), and RAN back out, just in time to see him coming through the bushes again. And I got a bunch of GREAT shots!
My sister said he looks like an Otis. I agree. So, everyone.....say Hi to Otis! He's my little buddy!
It is almost unfathomable to me how a little chipmunk (or two, or three, or four) could make me so incredibly happy!!!! I really don't understand it. But I don't question it.

Pardon the interruption of such serious posting and such but I think I need some help with the fondue. My nephew, some chocolate fondue and a lot of happiness.
