SHOALWATER BAY TRAINING AREA, Queensland, Australia (July 10, 2011) – Australian cooks at the Camp Growl dining facility in Shoalwater Bay Training Area form an assembly line to produce “hot packs,” meals-to-go, during Talisman Sabre 2011 July 10, 2011. The Camp Growl dining facility provides meals for approximately 1,500 U.S. and Australian troops. Almost 800 of those meals are sent as hot packs to the field. TS11 is a biennial combined training exercise designed to train Australian and U.S. forces in planning and conducting Combined Task Force operations to improve Australian Defence Force/U.S. combat readiness and interoperability.
